On Apr 2015, a young woman came to the South Hill Cinemas ticket window & spoke to my [redacted] The [redacted] being unfamiliar w/the situation, suggested she speak w/me She came inside & I asked her, "How can I help you"? She said she had been here back in Aug w/family to see a movie but the theater was closed She went on to say that she left her name in a notebook w/a lady outside & wanted to know what it was for I told her that none of my employees had been here & I wasn't sure what had happened to said list I told her that I was confused about what she wanted & asked, "What is it that you want me to do"? She said she thought those people on the list should have been provided Free Passes & I told her again, "that list would have been from more than months ago & I don't have it or know what happened to it Still looking for some type of validation, I asked her what movie they came to see & she couldn't recall At that time, my [redacted] & I got very busy w/over customers for [redacted] & I excused myself to wait on them When I looked around about minutes later she was still waiting at the counter & I paused for just a moment & w/a very deep sigh of exasperation said, "Young lady, I'm sorry but I can't help you" She left but came back almost immediately to ask for my card, which I gave her & she left South Hill Cinemas is the only theater within miles & when it closed on Labor day 2012, my sons & I purchased it My youngest is my Manager & as our way of "giving back", our admission is only $person We thought this would make everyone more understanding & appreciative of what we're trying to do here? The day in question is Aug 27th, I believe? At 4PM, Mecklenburg & the surrounding counties had been placed under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning & residents advised to stay home & take cover There was torrential rain & wind w/flooding & very dangerous lightning Needless to say, when my other [redacted] who was months pregnant called me at home to express her concern about opening the theater, I told her to stay home Here we get about people per day & I had no idea that people would still be coming out in that weather for a movie I extend my deepest apologies to those who may have come out & found us closed but this is the only complaint we have received & regret that w/only $tickets, we can't afford to offer Free Passes

Review: On April 7, 2015, I went to the South Hill Cinemas. The last time I was there was in August 2014. No one was there to open the movie theater and numerous people were told to put their name in a notebook. South Hill is my hometown; however, I live in New Jersey. While I was on vacation a week ago, I returned to the movies and approached the manager, Mr. [redacted], about the incident that happened in August 2014. I was told that the incident happened too long ago and he could not locate the notebook any longer to confirm the information. I informed him this was no story I was making up, but respected his decision not to help me. I went back to the window to STILL purchase tickets for myself and the family, when I was told to come back in and talk to him. Mr. [redacted] asked what I wanted him to do. I informed him that we were just told to put our name in the book and I was just following up as to why we had to put our name in the book. I didn't know if the incident was deserving of a discount (ie.,popcorn, soda) or anything else. He told me it was to honor free movie passes. I informed him myself and my two kids had our names in the book. He then asked what movie was playing in August and I could not provide this information. Finally, Mr. [redacted] stated again he could not help me. At this time, I left the movie theater. Mr. [redacted] was aware of the incident that occurred in August and due to his poor bookkeeping, would not honor the movie passes to us. However, I was still willing to spend money in this business until he called me in for the second time just to tell me he couldn't help me and had no solid reasoning behind it. I felt this was very poor business etiquette and the incident should have been deserving of some type of discount.Desired Settlement: 3 free movie tickets
