South Jersey Moving Reviews (%countItem)

So July 30th I set up an August 26th move. They told me they would be by today to give a more accurate estimate. The guy Rob is like we got a problem you have too much stuff we can't move you. So I am now stuck one week before closing trying to find a mover. They never said anything like that could be a problem I did a room by room estimate online too.

I would give 0 stars if I could. AWFUL business. They were such a scam. It started off with an appointment set for 12-1. Jose called me at 9 stating he wanted to come then, I told him I wasn’t ready so he said he’d do another job and get back to me. Other job was done he called me at 10:30AM stating he would come then. I told him again I was not ready being as though I scheduled around the time they told me. He then asked if he could reschedule the entire move and come 2 days later but I worked that day so it would not work for me. I could not believe what he was saying. He then told me if he could not come an hour and a half sooner that “he just wouldn’t be able to help me.” Being as though that was my moving day I told them to head over since they just screwed me. They showed up and started packing and claimed I didn’t tell them about my two televisions. Yeah, as if I wanted to leave my $3000 TVs behind. All the inventory was taken over the phone. (My own fault for not making sure everything was in black and white with a company like this) I lived in the home so there was not much to move consider it was ONLY ME who lived there. The owner Jose was EXTREMELY unprofessional and just down right trashy about the situation and had the audacity to raise his voice and yell at me in my home and then allowed his 19-20 year old son to chime in, who then got into my mother’s face (a 60 year old woman). My mom said something back of course to defend ourselves when the other mover then responded to us that the son was a boxer, as if we should be scared or should’ve not said a word to defend ourselves?! I told the son to get out of my house after he did that and he told me to “shut the f* up.” Before this happened I had been moving boxes to their truck faster than they were and was told I was moving too fast!!! Kinda funny being told that when you’re being charged for the moving time. The cops had to be called because they were so out of hand. I have NEVER dealt with such a situation before in my life! It was so terrifying and I could not believe I allowed people like this into my home to move my belongings. Even the cop who showed up could agree. Such disgrace of a “business” I cannot stress enough how scary the situation got and I just want to make everyone aware before they get out into a situation like this. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!!!

Sorry but this person gave me a small inventory by phone. About 2 hours of work worth. When we get there it looks like a whole house move. I presented her the inventory she sent me and she agreeded with the inventory that was to be moved. However as the move progressed she kept adding to the move. I advised her this will add more time to the move. She immediately started shouting and got very indignant that I was trying to rip her off. The move was set up for $299 for one and a half hours. For a two-men crew. We had three men on this job with no extra charge for the extra guy. Because we had done a job earlier. However she seem unreasonable and felt that I was trying to pull a wool over her eyes she said that she saw the scam movers On TV or Internet and she started accusing us to be scam movers. We decided not to continue to move because she got really hostile..

We hired South Jersey Moving to move our items. When I went in my living room I noticed a nice size hole in my wall. It appears one of the 4 men put his foot back and his heel went through the wall. I know for a fact there was no hole there because it is just my husband and myself living there and a love seat has been against that wall since it was delivered over a year ago. So when I walked in there and saw it I said you put a hole in my wall. The first kid said no I didn’t. Then he went outside and told the rest of the crew. The tall guy then calls the owner Rob. I now tell the tall guy you guys put a hole in my wall. He said no we didn’t and you have issues. Then they start unloading my love seat, boxes and my dining room chairs out on the lawn. I was begging them to please just move this stuff. He kept telling me I had issues. Then my son pulls up and he is telling my son I have issues. My son told him your disrespecting my Mom. How would you like me to disrespect your mom. My son never touched him. I made him leave. The movers put my stuff on the lawn and left. With rain clouds threatening my husband and son moved the love seat to the new home that was 4 minutes away. In the mean time I took all the chairs and boxes back in the house. When my husband called the owner Rob. Told him about the hole. Rob said well I don’t know what’s going on over there. I’m not there. Maybe he should be with his crew supervising. Needless to say we got another moving company that did a good job. When I wrote a review on Robs Facebook page for his company he said I was dropping the F bomb and cursing his men up and down and my husband pushed his guy. First thing I worked in school for many years with handicap children and I never curse like he is saying and my son, not my husband never laid a hand on his guy, cause if he did I’m sure a fist fight would have occurred and police would have came. In the end I ended up paying a dry wall man $50. If they just would have owned up to it I may have felt differently.

When we showed up at the job. The customer was very belligerent and cursing and using the F word at by men. When my man pulled the sofa away from the wall there was an existing small hole in the wall. When the customer saw this she flipped out and starting using F words towards my man and my man said they did not do it and if we did do it we would send someone out for the repair. When the husband came in he also was very belligerent and was using the F word and he got in the face of my driver and then pushed him with his shoulder in an attempt to get my driver to swing at him. My driver felt very threatened physically by him it was at that point we decided not to do the job Tell us why here...

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: He is lying. I told you in my original complaint that he was lying saying I was cursing at him. Next my son, not my husband never pushed him. This is the kind of business he is running so I expected nothing else from him. I will just keep telling everyone what kind of bad service they gave me and how they handled it. Hopefully no one will ever want to hire them.

Regards

I contacted South Jersey Moving with high expectations because a personal acquaintance had said very good words about their services and highly recommended them. They came by, gave me an estimate, and we agreed on a time. They were supposed to arrive today morning, 8/18/18 at 9am. 45 mins go by and nothing happens. I call him and he says they got delayed so they’ll be here at 1. It’s ok; stuff happens. At 1pm, still no sign of their trucks. I call them again at 1:20 and the man said he’s going to follow up with his crew. By 2pm, there’s still no answer and I had to call him again to follow up. He had no clue whatsoever where his crew was or what time they’d arrive. To make things worse he became defensive and acted as though there was nothing wrong. Finally at 3pm they call saying they’re on their way. By then, I no longer needed their services. I had already shifted my entire schedule once and couldn’t do so again. They didn’t have the courtesy to call me with an update or apologize; I was the one constantly following up. I’m still in disbelief at how someone can be so careless and indifferent. All our belongings are taped up in boxes and the entire house is a mess. We were looking forward to moving into our new place today, but that won’t be happening, no thanks to south jersey moving.

I planned a one bedroom move from Williamstown, NJ to Glassboro, NJ. I spoke to Jose on May 30 to get a quote, he emailed me back with $350.00 for 2 men and 2.5 hours. On June 3, I emailed Jose to confirm the moving date of June 17th. He then responded stating that their AM start time is 9:00-9:30 and PM start time is 12:00-2:00. And they only have one job before me. On June 16, Jose called to confirm a 2:00 start time. On June 17, Jose called at 1:30 stating "he CAN'T move me today and maybe tomorrow". I explained that the apartment will be inhabitable tomorrow. Jose said "OK, how about 5:00?" I said "Yes, please because I have to leave today" Jose said "let me call my foreman, I will call you back". As of July 1, I have not hear from him and this company since. I found this behavior to be very, very UNPROFESSIONAL. I would not recommend this company to anyone. While I was scrabbling to find another moving company, I made sure to tell their competitor my experience.
