Friday, January 20, 2017 Dear RevDex.com, We are writing this letter in response to a complaint filed by [redacted] on 1/11/2017, Complaint ID number [redacted] . According to the complaint by the customer, the mother and daughter came to Resale Trends on January 9th to shop for a... wedding dress. Upon visiting with the pair of customers, they told the owner of Resale Trends that they had come from [redacted] but they couldn't get waited on because they didn't have an appointment to try on dresses. The owner offered to show the pair what dresses were available at Resale Trends and asked what their budget was. The pair stated that their budget was $150.00. Every dress that was within the customer's size range was pulled and considerable time was spent with the mother and daughter by, not 1 but, 2 sales people. The complaint states that "my daughter settled on a dress that she was not truly happy with so that they would stop pushing choices on her". At no time was a dress "pushed" on them. In fact, they wanted to purchase a brand new dress that was priced at $199.00. They stated that they only had $175.00 to spend. The owner of Resale Trends then offered to reduce the price of the new dress to $161.66 so that with the $13.34 of tax the amount would total an even $175.00. The exact amount that they stated they had to spend. They purchased the dress and left the store very satisfied. As to the complaint that there was no sign posted, there is clearly a sign at the checkout counter that states "NO REFUND! OR EXCHANGE" please see attached picture. The daughter called Resale Trends and asked for a refund. The owner stated that all sales were final, but made the offer that the young woman could consign the dress if she had changed her mind and that once the dress sold she could recoup 50% of the selling price of the dress. The customer did not want to consign the dress. It is standard policy at all stores in our area do not accept returns on bridal gowns. Resale Trends called [redacted] and [redacted] to confirm that they have the same policy, and in fact they do. No bridal store accepts returns. Resale Trends acted in good faith when working with these customers and certainly realizes that a bridal gown is one of the most important purchases of apparel that a young woman will make. We take pride in the fact that we have outfitted many very satisfied customers. We hope that if the dress she chose at our shop is not the "dream" dress she has envisioned herself in, that she will find it somewhere. Resale Trends is requesting that this complaint be dismissed as groundless. Thank you for your time and attention. Respectfully, [redacted] ***
