South Ridge Apartments Reviews (3)

We lived 9 years in south ridge app. after the two years, we moved from upstairs to downstairs approved by management due to my kids. we lived seven years in the downstairs unit. In the last summer we moved from south ridge. Before leaving, I asked them to see the unit together, but they said that it is not necessary. We left the unit clean, we gave them keys back on time. However, they sent us $644 bill for damaged three doors($150), carpet ($100), unit cleaning ($100)and late fee($294). Actually, they usually replace carpet in every 5 years, but we lived 7 years in the same unit with the same carpet. It was still ok. At the beginning, I mentioned that we wanted them the cleaning of the unit with us, but they said it is not necessary, because we stayed seven years in that unit. So there was not any reason to charge for cleaning. Next item is late fee or missing payment. When I talked to about this with the office, they could not explain it to me. They just said that we will find it and we will inform you by email. However, they have never sent me any email up to now. Only one item was partially correct on the list which was doors, but not 100%, because, we damaged only two doors. for each door they charged $50. Our portion should be just $100. When we moved south ridge in we gave them $100 deposit which we still have the paper showing we payed $ 100 to them. As a result, our deposit can cover the doors fee, then there is no any reason to pay anything to south ridge management. For this issue, I tried to reach the manager of the south ridge apartments many times by calling, but the manager did not talk to me. I left messages to manager's assistance, but did not call me back. One more thing, last month I learned that, they gave me to a collection company. It is not fair. They want to get money from us without any reason.Desired SettlementI accepted two damaged doors ($100). For $100 payment, I want to use our deposit given 9 years ago to them. Then we will not pay anything else. Because, we lived in the same unit 7 years and we left that unit very well.

I was a tenant there for 1 year and when my lease was up the gave my roommate and I a bill with charges that were told was covered in our initial deposit. Upon talking with the management, they told us that there was $100 missing from our account and they would look into it 30 minutes they called us and told us that we did not pay the full rent for the entirety of our lease. We received their financial ledger which stated that for every month my roommate was underpaying by $25. This is not consistent with the banking documents and checks that we have. Over the course of 12 months this lead to a $300 deduction from our initial deposit and credit that we had. On top of the financial oversight, they are charging us excessively for cleaning and damages that we are not responsible for.Desired SettlementWe would like a full reimbursement for the missing $300, full investigation over financial practices of the office staff and the check the legality of the staff practices.

withholding information, customer service that was provided was poor etiquette and unprofessional. I was a resident; gave my 30 day notice to move out due to a career transfer. Upon returning my keys on my move-out date, I was told by a staff member that they "don't do move-out walk through's". I immediately questioned that and thought that was odd. A month passes by and I never received any notification on my deposit return. (Tenants must be notified within 30 days regarding deposit refund status). I contacted the office and they indicated that they do not know the status. Over the next month I contacted them about once a week asking. Approximately 2 months after my move-out date, I received a letter in the mail from [redacted] saying that I owe $345.00 for carpet replacement due to pet damage. I was shocked considering I am definitely a clean person, had one cat that stayed outside ALL the time and considering that I didn't even do a walk though upon move out. I contacted South Ridge Apartments and asked to get the carpet information such as what was documented as to why specifically it had to be replaced as well as the carpet history for my unit. I was told by staff that they would get a hold of it and let me know. Two or so weeks go by and I hadn't heard from anyone so I called and I was told that they could not find the records on the carpet history for that apartment unit. I then was told to contact a specific person at [redacted] so I did just that. I was appalled at the way I was treated over the phone by a lady at [redacted]. She told me that I was at fault and I had to pay. I told her that all I wanted was the carpet records because I was shocked that they had to replace my carpet due to pet damage. I stated that there were stains upon move in that I had documented, I was abruptly interrupted and cut off by the lady saying that there was no documentation from my move in and I have to pay; so once again I was at fault. A few weeks go by and I get an email from the lady at [redacted] saying that she is working on getting all the paperwork from my apartments and all the information we need for me to negate this balance and move forward. I reply saying Thank You and we will talk soon. 2 weeks go by and I get a phone call from another woman saying that I have 10 days to pay before it goes to collections. At this time, I was completely caught off guard as I thought I had 2 woman; 1 from South Ridge and 1 from [redacted] Residential working in my favor to help solve this issue. Meanwhile, my file was just being pushed along from desk to desk with no regards to effective and fair customer service. It was all just a scam and they obviously were telling me what I wanted to hear. Unfortunately, the people at South Ridge Apartments and at [redacted] withheld information from me, not giving me the information I wanted and talking to me unprofessionally. Recently I got a call from a collector and I was told that "withholding information happens all the time". She told me to pursue small claims due to state laws indicating that apartments must keep carpet records and the fact that they told me "we don't do walk through's". At this time a small claims pursuit is in progress. Desired SettlementI am not seeking a settlement. I am seeking fairness and honesty with this business.
