moved out of his storage unit sometime in the month of May and did not notify the on-site managers as required per written contract.  The managers walk the property daily to make sure tenants haven’t vacated without notifying us. This is very common in mini storage industry.  Many times tenants move out without giving notice.  If the managers find the tenants lock has been removed they will check the unit to see if it has been vacated and them move forward to re-rent it.  The managers found the unit empty 5/12/2015 so they moved Mr. [redacted] out of our system and moved a new tenant in to the unit.  The tenant is required to give a 30 day written notice before vacating to get a full refund but they rarely ever do.  On the 29th of May Mr. [redacted] came into the office to give his notice and to get a refund.  The manager explained this could take up to 30 days.  On-site needs to send this information to corporate and corporate cuts a check to the past tenant any credit from the date the new tenant moves in.  The on-site manager notified corporate and a check in the amount of $157 was sent out to the tenant on 6/1/2015.It appears Mr. [redacted] not only didn’t follow protocol according to his lease but also was very impatient about getting his refund. His refund was sent out less the 18 days after we discovered he had moved out.
