As you are most likely aware, all [redacted] coupons are issued directly to purchasers by [redacted]. The wording of the deal is also laid out by [redacted]. In this case Country Kitchen Patchogue had nothing to do with neither placement of nor advertising the “deal”. We are always ready and willing to honor our commitments but like any business we insist on patrons conforming to the “deal” as put forth. If the print regarding our insistence on a reservation is deemed “fine” by [redacted], his issue is with [redacted] because they created the advertisement and are solely responsible for its layout. In addition, the “how to use this” paragraph is of the same type set as the rest of the offer and resides on the upper right side of the page. As you know, this is considered the prime location by advertisers because it’s what hits the eye of the reader.

There was no mistake made by Country Kitchen as our only reason for allowing [redacted] to greatly discount our services was and is to bolster our sales early in the AM and later in the day on weekends. Yes we enjoy a robust breakfast crowd but also serve lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Our sales ratio is roughly 50% breakfast and 50% lunch and dinner. It’s because of this that we do not accept reservations between the hours of 10AM and 2PM on both Sat. and Sun. This policy is NOT limited to [redacted]. Country Kitchen Patchogue will happily honor his [redacted] Mon. to Fri. any time and Sat. and Sunday as per our commitment to him and [redacted]. Unfortunately [redacted] did not read the deal prior to purchasing it. I would like to know why, after reading his coupon, he felt it necessary to reach out to Revdex.com and why Revdex.com entertained a complaint that obviously is without merit?

Review: Country Kitchen issued a [redacted] which I purchased through [redacted]. In the "Fine Print" of the [redacted] all restrictions are listed about when and how you can use the groupon. The [redacted] Fine Print has no restrictions listed as to when you can use the [redacted] it only says you must make a reservation. When I called for a reservation the lady told me that [redacted]s are not honored on Sundays from 10AM to 2PM. This is a breakfast place and the reason I bought the groupon in the first place was to go to Sunday breakfast. This is false advertising. The establishment is very unprofessional to not honor their commitments even if they made a mistake when listing the [redacted].Desired Settlement: I have requested a refund through [redacted] and am awaiting the disposition. But this business needs to be responsible for their actions.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The issue in dispute here was not related to the requirement

to make reservations. That is a common

requirement and I have no issue with that.

As I pointed out in my complaint the issue is that:

“The [redacted] Fine Print has no restrictions listed as to when you

can use the [redacted] it only says you must make a reservation. When I called for

a reservation the lady told me that [redacted]s are not honored on Sundays from

10AM to 2PM. This is a breakfast place and the reason I bought the groupon in

the first place was to go to Sunday breakfast.”

The requirement to make reservations was pointed out in both

the “Fine Print” (Upper left) and “How to use this” (upper right). I saw it, agreed to it and purchased the

groupon….no issue. Many dining groupons require reservations.

Many also have restrictions on when the groupon may be

used. That is the basis of my

complaint. While Country Kitchen would

not honor the [redacted] on Sundays from 10AM – 2PM , they did not advise of that

in the [redacted] offer.

Below are a few examples of how establishments have

indicated restrictions on usage:

The Fine Print

Limit 1 per person, may buy 1

additional as a gift. Limit 1

per table. Valid only for option

purchased. Dine-in only.

Not valid

5/**-5/**, 6/[redacted]7/*, or 8/**-9/*.

The Fine Print

Limit 1 per person, may buy 1

additional as a gift. Limit 1

per table. Reservation required;

subject to availability.

Dine-in only. Dinner only. Alcohol is

not discounted more

than 50%. Merchant is solely

responsible for all sales and

delivery of alcohol. Must provide 21+

ID to receive

alcoholic drink. Not valid at the bar.

Not valid on a la carte

steaks, beef fondue, surf & turf,

or prix fixe menu. Not

valid

Fridays and Saturdays from 6PM-9:30PM. Not valid

10/*-10/**,

11/*-11/**, or major holidays.

I purchased these and had no issues because the consumer was

advised of restrictions prior to purchase.

Anyway, per my complaint submission, I am not expecting

anything from Country Kitchen, it is informational only, but think they should be more forthcoming with

the restrictions of the deal.

[redacted] has reviewed my complaint and issued a full refund

because they are in agreement with it and are concerned about their customers.
