Let us start by stating this complaint is the first we have heard from Ms*** since the installation of her front porch guttersIt is regrettable that Ms*** didn't even bother to discuss the matter with us prior to filing a complaint

We completed the job earlier this year and we were paid promptly - to our knowledge Ms*** was pleased with the workmanship
As far as Ms***'s complaints about damaged fascia, holes, etc- they are no surprise to usThe front porch on Ms***'s home needs to be replaced (almost in its entirety)We found evidence of rotted wood in the supporting structure and fascia when we initially examined the porchA bid was presented to Ms*** to repair the porch and she declined due to the costWe always advise customers to replace rotted wood as it presents a safety issue and shortens the life of a roof or guttersDespite our recommendations, Ms*** chose to install new gutters on old fascia boards that should have been replaced
I wish Ms*** would have contacted us directly and worked in good faith towards a resolution
We will not be refunding any monies paid or paying out additional funds for work that we suggested doing when the gutters were installed

I received an apology letter from the company along with a check late yesterday - I deposited the check this morning, so if there is no problem with it, I consider the matter resolved

Please consider the below our response to the complaint. “Over the past several months we have been working with Ms. [redacted] to address the leak in her kitchen. The roof was installed to specification in 2013 including recommendations to remove/replace flashings around roof penetrations. We have...

explained to Ms. [redacted] several times, both over the phone and in person, the cause of her leak is the exhaust pipe. We are not trained or licensed to perform work in or around flu pipes – this requires hiring a mechanical contractor with proper licensing and training. In our most recent attempt to help Ms. [redacted] we caulked around several leaks and explained that she needed to contact a mechanical contractor to repair the flu pipe; our fix was temporary and intended to buy Ms. [redacted] some additional time. We feel that a quality roof was installed and that we have held up our end of any contract or guarantee. We are not avoiding Ms. [redacted] and have never avoided her; we are simply out of ways to explain that she needs a different contractor to fix the flu pipe. To imply that we are taking advantage of Ms. [redacted] because she is an 80 year old woman is simply unfair and unfounded.”Let me know about any questions or additional information required.

[redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I was contacted by Southside roofing today and  they are promising to come out and make it better. Let's hope that they will keep their word.

[redacted] is no longer an employee here so if they are calling him directly that may be why. I was actually unaware of this issue , and we plan to get in contact with them to resolve the issue.
