It has taken me awhile to write this. Last fall we had South Star Granite install a granite countertop in our guest bathroom. A week later, a friend was using the guest bath and noticed a stain on the granite where water sat. We called the company and told them we did not think the granite was sealed. They said no it was sealed. We asked them to come out and look at it, but they refused. We have since had a granite countertop put in our kitchen by a different company, and we have had no problems. South Star granite does not care about their customers. We used it because our handyman suggested them. He has now switched to another company also.
South Star installed granite counter tops in our kitchen in spring 2016. They communicated with us throughout the process of choosing the granite, measuring, and installing. They also followed up with a call after the installation to be sure all had gone well. We were very pleased with their professionalism and the quality of their work. In September we bought a new kitchen range to replace our old range which was a slightly larger size. As a result the granite strip behind the range needed to be cut down to a smaller size. My husband, who is somewhat of a handy man, took the piece out and we took it to them and asked them to cut it to a specified size. We planned to go back and pick it up and reinstall it ourselves. We had also noticed a small spot on the island that looked dull that we had not noticed before. They said they would cut the piece, come out and install it and take a look at the dull spot at no charge. We were pleasantly surprised because we expected to pay to have the piece cut down. They cut the piece to the right size for us and scheduled a time to come out and reinstall. They also polished out the dull spot which now looks perfectly fine. The person who came out to do the work spent at least a couple of hours at our house doing this work for which they did not charge. The counter tops are beautiful and we are very pleased. We would definitely use this company again and recommend them highly.
