Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: While I appreciate the general manager's (Dan K.) response to my complaint, as well as his offer to send my husband a check for the double billed charges (which is only the correct thing to do), I am still upset with South Tacoma HondaI have never received a return call regarding my complaint, as was originally promisedMy husband has also received the "run-around" when trying to contact the dealership regarding various issues, the most important issue being a dispute over the trade in valueI researched the trade in value for my husband's Honda Civic, and the amount is between 3,000-$5,USD for a vehicle in "fair" conditionI agree that my husband's vehicle may not have been in "fair" condition, however, I think that an offer of only USD is unacceptable and unfairMy husband was promised that a manager would call him to discuss the trade in value amount, however, he has never received a call, and weeks has elapsed so farSo, in conclusion, my major complaints with this dealership are lack of follow through on complaints, unfair trade in value amount (based in Kelley Blue Book report), and unclear explanation of the costs and charges involved with financing a vehicle through their dealership Sincerely, [redacted]

Mr*** ***, Mrs*** husband, called our sales department Thursday morning, March 3rd, and made an appointment with our salesperson LeonMr*** was driven here by a friend of his later that morning. After his arrival Mr*** picked out the car he was
lookingThe sales price on his vehicle was $24,062.00. MSRP $23,035.00 Allstate Theft Deterrent $329.00 3M Door Cups, Edge Guards, and Rear Bumper Protection $698.00 Selling Price $24,062.00 Mr*** agreed to the sales priceMr*** also purchased LOJACK for $and the Allstate Theft Deterrent for $which brought the base of the vehicle, with options, to $25,Mr. *** also purchased GAP for $695.00, Service Contract for $1,899.00, and a Maintenance Contract for $1,The breakdown of the transaction is as follows: Base Price of Vehicle $24,062.00 LOJAK $995.00 Allstate Theft Deterrent $329.00 License and registration fees $179.25 Trade in Allowance ($500.00) Sales Tax $2,438.00 Documentary Fee $150.00 Service Contract $1,899.00 Maintenance Contract $1,154.00 Sales Tax (For Service Contract and Maintenance) $290.04 GAP $695.00 Amount Financed $31,692.12 Now that I have mapped out what happened I would like to address three areas of concern. First, we gave Mr*** $for his trabecause it was inoperableWe had to have it towed to the dealership after the deal was consummatedWe never had the ability to look at it, or drive it. Second, Mr*** made the decision to purchase LOJACK, Allstate Theft Deterrent, GAP, Service Contract, and a Maintenance ContractThe Service Contract, Maintenance Contract, and GAP are all cancellableIf Mr*** would like to cancel these items this month we would send GESA Credit Union a check for $3,I would also reimburse Mr*** the sales tax on those products by sending a check to him directly for $290.04. Third, on examination of this deal I noticed two errors on our partOne was that the 3M Door Cups, Edge Guards, and Rear Bumper Protection had never been installed on the vehicle and second, Mr. *** was charged for the Allstate Theft Deterrent twiceI will be sending Mr*** a check today for $1,($+ $+ sales tax of $= $1,124.57) I apologize for the error on our side. Dear Mr***,
Please go the link below:
http://owners.honda.com/Documentum/Warranty/Handbooks/AWL47382.pdf
Please read the section under "General Warranty Provisions" page 8. Since you altered your vehicle by putting on a cold air intake and changing the suspension Honda will not cover this. You will have to direct your question to Honda for their official response. Please remember, Honda rejected this claim, not us. For your satisfaction you need to take this up with Honda
Respectfully Yours,
Daniel K***

Dear Mr***,I highly take offense of your response that this dealership is all, “Tricks and Lies” Why didn’t you contact me before you came in? Why not Jeff? You said you enjoyed him You bought your last car from Bill R***, why didn’t you ask for him?Our job is to
ask for the sale If you want to think on it, that’s OK However, when Reggie asked you would you take the vehicle today if we can agree on numbers you went way overboard Had you just kept your cool and explained: 1.) What your experience was the last time, and 2.) that you wanted to think about it, that would have been fine However, you told Reggie there was only a 5% chance of us selling you a car and you were going to shop our numbers everywhere! What incentive does a commission salesperson have to sell you a car with your attitude? Furthermore, you were never escorted out of the dealership!!I am proud of everyone who works here Do we make mistakes? Yes We also try to right those wrongs If you want a selling price and a trafigure for your car, I will gladly give it I have nothing to hide Respectfully Yours,Dan K***General ManagerSouth Tacoma Honda

When I received the letter from the Revdex.com I knew the problem had not been resolved.
I contacted Dan to just take of the problem.  I believe the work was done yesterday (12/29/2015) and Ms. [redacted] had been helped by our Service Drive Manager, Chad B[redacted].  Mr. B[redacted] told me the problem was handled and her desired settlement has been taken care of.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:

While I appreciate the general manager's (Dan K.) response to my complaint, as well as his offer to send my husband a check for the double billed charges (which is only the correct thing to do), I am still upset with South Tacoma Honda. I have never received a return call regarding my complaint, as was originally promised. My husband has also received the "run-around" when trying to contact the dealership regarding various issues, the most important issue being a dispute over the trade in value. I researched the trade in value for my husband's 2006 Honda Civic, and the amount is between 3,000-$5,000 USD for a vehicle in "fair" condition. I agree that my husband's vehicle may not have been in "fair" condition, however, I think that an offer of only 500 USD is unacceptable and unfair. My husband was promised that a manager would call him to discuss the trade in value amount, however, he has never received a call, and 3 weeks has elapsed so far. So, in conclusion, my major complaints with this dealership are lack of follow through on complaints, unfair trade in value amount (based in Kelley Blue Book report), and unclear explanation of the costs and charges involved with financing a vehicle through their dealership.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The information shared is inaccurate. Cheryl was not forth coming with explaining to me what I was signing. She stated it was to confirm my identity. She did not indicate that was a request for credit form. Additionally, I did not give the dealership permission to check my credit in an effort to offer me a better financing. I was perfectly comfortable walking away if they couldn't meet my needs through the financing I had secured. As to the comment regarding the pulls on my credit before I came to see them, that is none of their business. I authorized those checks, one was through a multiple lender search (Lending Tree), and the other through USAA in an effort to get the best rate. I reiterate that at no point did I authorize the dealership to pull my credit. The form I signed was signed under the impression that it was to check my ID only. It was signed under false pretense.   Again, I ask that the dealership work with their finance team to remove the inquiry from all three credit bureaus. These check were unauthorized and are fraudulent.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

On page 8 of the attached PDF file Ms. [redacted] stated, “Confirming my
identity does not require you to check my credit.  You could have pulled on OFAC and not a hard
pull.”  If Ms. [redacted] knew this why did
she sign all the paperwork?  Second, in
the same paragraph she states, “I told you we were buying a new house soon and
therefore I did not want my credit checked.”
Ms. [redacted] already had her credit ran three times!!  If buying a house was so important why were
you shopping for a car!!!  Respectfully, we run a very honest and open dealership!  To threaten and call us fraudulent is

that Cheryl’s explanation of us running your credit was strange.  Cheryl is a great person and would never lie,

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I feel like South Tacoma Honda is being extremely petty in this manner. I have already addresses the concerns stated in their rebuttal as this was the same unprofessional response that was provided in their initial letter. I learned about ways to confirm my ID through my research after I noticed my credit was checked. I was not aware of this while in Cheryl's office and relied on her to be honsest and up front with me regarding her need for my information. Cheryl had a duty to disclose all information to me. I had reasonable cause to believe she was being forthcoming with the use of my information.  I am not asking you to admit guilt I am asking you to the right thing for the customer and fix a an issues that has risen concern. Why I checked my credit prior to coming to you and why I was in the market for a new car is not the issue at hand. The issue as hand is why my credit was checked by South Tacoma Honda and the confusion behind it. I left your dealership under the impression my credit was not checked. I am attempting to be civil in this matter however I feel you are not. I am asking you to be fair and do what is right.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Ms. [redacted] contacted our dealership through an internet lead from
TrueCar at 2:34pm on February 10th, 2017.  She had received several emails from one of
our Internet Salespeople, Cheryl M[redacted].
They talked on the phone and [redacted] changed the color from black to
red.  Ms. [redacted]...

came in later that
night. From my understanding Ms. [redacted] was shown the vehicle and then went to
Cheryl’s office to do the paperwork.  As
you can see from the attachment Ms. [redacted] signed the following documents:1.)Application for credit – signed2.)Accessory Sell Sheet – signed3.)Privacy Notice – signed4.)Sellers Disclosure Statement For Trade-In Vehicle – signed5.)Used Car Appraisal – no signature needed6.)Copy of Driver’s License – Not sent for Privacy Purposes7.)Copy of Insurance Card – Not sent for Privacy Purposes.Ms. [redacted] came into our dealership with the complete intent on buying
a car.  She did tell Ms. M[redacted] that she
did not want her credit to be pulled, and that she was pre-approved through
USAA.  When we could not come to terms
with Ms. [redacted], due to her owing too much compared to the value of her trade,
we asked if we could pull her credit.
The reason being was that under USAA’s guidelines for her loan we might
be able to find her a better solution through another bank.  To my knowledge Ms. [redacted] agreed.  Obviously, she will contest this.I agree with Ms. [redacted], that Cheryl’s explanation of your running your
credit for identity purpose makes no sense.
We do have to run an OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) report
however, that does not show or affect your credit.  Also, we did not run your credit twice, we
ran it three times.  They were pulled
from each of the reporting bureaus, Equifax, Experian, and Transunion.  There was a 35 point swing between each
credit pull.  This is quite common in the
auto business.  It can make big
difference on the advance and interest rate of the car loan.As to your point that we somehow damaged your credit from buying
another home, why did you have your credit pulled from three other sources that
day?  Why did you sign all the paperwork
that allowed us to pull your credit?
Finally, if buying the house is so important why were you buying a car
in the first place? Running a credit inquiry does affect your score, however
minimally.  I see this with my own
credit. In the end, I apologize for any confusion that Cheryl may have
caused.  She has been counseled in
regards to the verbiage she used.  Cheryl
is a kind and caring person and would never intentionally deceive anyone.  By no means are we fraudulent or
deceptive.  We were just trying to help
Ms. [redacted].  I wish Ms. [redacted] good luck and good fortune.Respectfully Yours,Dan K[redacted]General ManagerSouth Tacoma Honda(253)472-2300  Ext. [redacted]SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS REDACTED BY Revdex.com[redacted]

towed to our shop on September 27, 2016.  Our technicians diagnosed that one of the connecting rods had broken and punched a hole through the engine block also damaging his starter.  We contacted our Honda District Parts & Service Field Manager to get authorization for the repairs.  She questioned if the vehicle had been modified; we told her yes.  Mr. [redacted] had put on a cold air intake manifold and changed the suspension.  She declined to give an answer until she inspected the car herself.  When she showed up and saw that the car had been modified she declined all warranty repairs.  Mr. [redacted] then contacted Honda directly and they concurred with our District Managers decision.I am very sympathetic to Mr. [redacted] however; this is an issue between Mr. [redacted] and Honda.  Honda has Warranty Limitations.  They will not cover the cost of repair for, “Any failure caused by modifying the vehicle, or installing accessories not authorized by Honda.”Respectfully Yours,Daniel K[redacted]General ManagerSouth Tacoma Honda
