I am rejecting this response because: I attempted to reach out to the Business Office Manager at the High Point, NC campus on April 3, I made multiple calls, left several messages, and sent several emailsI have been hounded by bill collectors since AprilI did not get a response or any help from anyone involved with South University until I submitted this complaintI don't know how much damage this has done to my credit scoreThe complete lack of response on every front by this business is unprofessional and unacceptableThere is absolutely no reason why I should still be trying to figure out this problem over three months after I first made contactI have no problem paying part of this bill even though I got no knowledge or skills out of the classesHowever, based on my attempts to resolve this issue over three months ago, I do not believe I should have to pay the full amount of this billThe inaction of this business despite my multiple attempts at making contact will have impacted my credit severely and will stay on my credit report for the next seven yearsI did what I could to get this issue taken care ofThe business did not and I should not have to pay the price because of the business' lack of action

We see that the date of Ms***'s rejection was on August 3, 2017. We continued to work with Ms*** after this date and resolved her issue on August 25, 2017. I am rejecting this response because: they are lying. I have emails saying to send my 2015 tax returns. But my fafsa is for 2017. He saying that I am being reviewed for this year.  But why am I having to send in my taxes for the year of 2015. Ms. [redacted]’s balance: The academic week for a ground student starts on Saturday and ends on Friday. With this in mind for the Winter Quarter, Week 1 started on Saturday, January 7 and ended on Friday, January 13. Going forward, Week 2 ended on Friday, January 20 and Week 3 ended on Friday, January 27. [redacted]’s last date of attendance was on Saturday, January 28; which is the first day of Week 4. Since the LDA for this student is beyond Week 3, the student is not entitled to a refund of tuition, prorated or otherwise. The official policy is below (which was signed by the student in the enrollment agreement process): 4.Accelerated Graduate Programs, Atlanta, Austin, Columbia*, High Point, Montgomery, Novi, and Savannah campuses: Tuition Refunds will be Determined as Follows, based on the week in which the student withdraws: Withdrawal Date Tuition RefundWeek 1 75% of tuition costWeek 2 50% of tuition costWeek 3 25% of tuition costAfter Week 3 0% of tuition cost *Columbia campus only: For students attending the University for the first time and who withdraw from the institution, a prorate refund calculation s[redacted] be applied up to sixty (60) percent point in time of that initial term. I don't know how much damage this has done to my credit score. The complete lack of response on every front by this business is unprofessional and unacceptable. There is absolutely no reason why I should still be trying to figure out this problem over three months after I first made contact. Review: I am a student at South University. I can not receive my official transcript or have my official transcript sent to other schools because I owe a balance to South University. I will have my balance paid off before I transfer schools. One of the schools I am applying to requires everything to be turned in by October 1, 2013 and my balance will not be paid completely off by then.Desired Settlement: Have my official transcript given to me or mailed to my schools of choice.

I am writing to respond to your letter of September 20, 2013 regarding the consumer affairs complaint of one of our students.

The student’s complaint is important to me, and I would like to address it in full; however, federal student education privacy laws prohibit institutions of higher education from disclosing student education records (which are broadly defined) without the student’s specific, signed, written, and dated permission to do so. The student has not included permission for South University to share education records with your office.

What I can share with you is that the student was enrolled during our summer 2013 quarter, and successfully completed four courses. Our school’s policy re: the release of official transcripts is below, which is copied and pasted from page 125 of the Academic Catalog and is available to you at

Transcript Fee

Each student is entitled to have one official transcript forwarded to another institution. The charge for additional copies is $10 each. Requests for transcripts should be submitted to the administrative office at the applicable campus.

Academic transcripts will not be issued to any student who has an outstanding balance with the University.

The student who filed the complaint has a balance over $1,300 and to date, has not made any payments to reduce this balance.

If you need any type of documentation, kindly let me know and include her signed and dated written permission allowing us to share her records at that time. I have attached a copy of the form we use that would allow the student to share records should you wish to pursue this with the student yourself.
