Southeast Dance shop does not honor return/exchange policy and has terrible customer serviceI purchased an item and clarified the return policy before completing my purchase. The items were questionable if they were going to be the correct size, so I double and triple checked the return policy and I was told one thing and when I return to the store to exchange the item they refused to honor what was told to me. The item has the tags and receipt and was within the 30 day time frame. Not only did they refuse to exchange the item for an equal item, they preceded to tell me I misunderstood the policy and they refused to make the exchange and put the customer first. Its a shame when a business does not value customer service. I WAS a frequent shopper but will not shop there again. I feel it's important to warn others about their dishonorable practices. Ultimately I was given store credit and nothing else. The owner and the owners daughter were very rude and they think because they say "i'm sorry" and then follow up with accusing me of not understanding the policy, it's is okay, well it's not and I was extremely displeased with the service and still don't have the replacement item because the store credit is less than the value of the replacement.Desired SettlementI would like a refund and not store credit since I plan to never shop their again or an exchange for an equal item which was what I originally was seeking.Business Response We accept exchanges or issue a store credit if merchandise is returned within 30 days, tags in tact and with the receipt present. You purchased an item on Black Friday when we were having a special 30% discount for 3 hours only. Your daughter tried on the gymnastics leotard in the store on the day you purchased it. When asked if the items could be exchanged, you were informed of the exchange policy. You were issued a store credit for the amount you spent on the leotard on the Black Friday 3 hour sale because you did not want to pay the current price of the gymnastics leotard and you asked for a store credit instead. The Black Friday sale was very specific and had guidelines and time restrictions. Our exchange policy has been in place since we've opened in 2003 and is the same for everyone. We have always honored our store policy and exchange policy. Store credits do not expire.
