Misleading adverstisementThis service claims to not be a school yet the is all it is, they are selling expensive classes. They are dishonest, not a company to do business with.Desired Settlementonly looking to warn other people.Business Response I make it very clear to all I see I am a consulting firm and offer a variety of services. I am not a school nor a photo studio. I provide the service of referring people to the different services they may need to go to the next level in their careers. The irony is that when I was a school I required all to work with my coaches in order to see the agents we brought in to interview clients. But now I give anyone who I interview with no experience or not enough Film/TV experience that they have a CHOICE- use my referral coaches or THEY CAN USE THEIR OWN COACH. I require the name and number of each persons coach so I can verify their credentials. This person that complained had little to no experience in the Film/TV field and is one of those who thinks he is 'a natural actor'.I told him I would allow him to attend my showcase as long as he hired an acting coach to teach him cold read/ audition skills. I told him he could use my referrals at $200 an hour or give me the name of his coach and I had to approve their credentials. He did neither. I did not take a penny from this person nor is anyone required to use any of my referrals. We just had the showcase and half of the performers used their own coach and the other half used my referrals. All of the performers have been offered agent contracts and I did my job of finding an guiding actors to obtain agent representation. The main reason the person or anyone complains about people trying to help them get ahead in this industry is simply they can't afford it.They get upset at us because they lack the funds or the drive to raise the funds to get the tools and skills to become successful. I'm sure the person who wrote this complaint has not sought out a coach he needs nor a pro photographer to shoot good headshots but yet would rather bash me for his shortcomings when I was just doing what the agents hire me to do. FYI: THE SHOWCASE I OFFERED WAS FREE ALSO.

We received no services for the $5900 and though the owner, [redacted], offered a partial refund for no services, he has yet to do refund us anyOn June 2nd, my wife attended a "talent search" in [redacted] for JRP Southeast. My wife signed up our 10 year old girl and 8 year old boy for their showcase in [redacted] after some nice praise and sales tactics from the JRP rep. The cost was $5900. Upon hearing that, and doing a quick google search about the company, we found numerous complaints filed, and we immediately contacted our bank to cancel the credit card payment, and notified the rep at JRP Southeast that we would not be able to move forward. The credit card dispute was not settled until November 2013. VISA ruled that it was a case of buyer's remorse, and per the contract, it was non-refundable. During the dispute, I had conversations and text messages with the owner, [redacted], and he indicated to me that we would be able to work out a partial refund since we didn't obtain any services. The showcase that we paid for was in [redacted] where we live, in the summer of 2013. As of Feb 18, 2014, the owner has not refunded any money, per his words from last November. The services that we paid for have come and gone, and there are no services to obtain at this point. He has offered to send me the list of cities where there is a showcase, and we could attend anyone of those. That would cost us a lot of extra money in travel and lodging, and we can't do that, and I find that unacceptable. I don't understand why he would want to keep all our money for no services at all, and not stay true to his word to work out something where we could get some of our money back.Desired SettlementSome sort of refund. [redacted] suggested $3000 bacn in November 2013. That would be acceptable. He would still receive $2900 for nothing. I would like more, but anything at this point would be greatly appreciated.Business Response This complaint has absolutely no merit. This family signed a non refundable contract with our company for services costing $5900. The wife signed the contract and we swiped her card for the contract total of $5900 including our company sponsoring a 2nd child for the same program of $5900. This family is getting $11,800 worth of services for $5,900. The kids did not show up the following weekend for the rehearsals/services they signed up for. The husband then gets involved and demands a refund for what his wife signed and paid for. When we refused his request of a refund and told him we were bound to the contract as was his family, he then proceeds to conduct a chargeback stating untruth after untruth about my company along with slanderous allegations that he had absolutely no evidence to back up. His chargeback untruths not only falsely hurt my office reputation but the chargeback he conducted under false reasonings made my rate/percentage fees increase with my merchant company. After rebutting this families numerous grandiose untruths and false allegations my company prevailed in the chargeback case and the funds were rightfully put back into my account. This family was informed that we did not deny nor would we ever deny the services they paid for as well as the sponsorship my company offered to the 2nd child. This case took until December of 2013 to finally come to an end. After learning that he lost the case this family then proceeds to call me and ask me for a refund once again! I get a sad story about how hard it was for the father to make money and they could not afford to pay for the services ..(even though it had been almost 6 months later after they paid us....and they have had to pay their card bills each month). I told the father once again that his 2 kids had a $11,800 credit with our company and that they could use our services anytime. I informed him he lost his chargeback case and that I could not give him a refund when it had been determined over the last several months that my contract was upheld. The father went on and on about not wanting our services and needed some of the money returned. I offered him a $2950 refund during this conversation and informed him that if he accepted it we would no longer owe any of the services of the contract. I informed him in length that he would not get a full refund mainly due to all of the countless hours I had to spend rebutting and researching and gathering all of the evidence to send to the chargeback department. The father wasnt satisfied with the amount I offered him and asked me to consider giving him more. I told him I would have to talk with my business partner about this. HE COULD OF HAD THESE FUNDS THAT DAY BUT DECIDED TO KEEP PUSHING FOR MORE. I opened up this families file to revisit the details of this case after I talked to this family.I was reminded by all of the testimony from the family all of the countless untruths and slanderous allegations and ruthless tactics they used to try and get the bank to feel sorry for them and hoped the bank would think they were victims of some grand conspiricy..(which are absurb, of course) After reading the complete file I only communicated with this family via text in order to have records of all of our conversations. I informed this family that I was resending my offer of $2950 refund and that I was reminded of the falsehoods of this case as well as the financial costs it has taken on our company when our rate increased due to his falsely executed chargeback. I told this family they would not be denied services stated on the contract and that all they had to do after they initialled signed up with us in 2013 was call our office the next day and request to downgrade to a lower program and we would have refunded the difference. Instead this family chose to go down a dark path of lies and slander thinking this would be the way to convince the bank to forgo the non refundable clause of my contract. IT DID NOT WORK FOR THEM. This family (father) will not leave this issue alone. He is constantly texting and calling several times daily asking for a refund. He thinks he is above the law and that contracts to not matter. When he does not hear back from me right away he will then call me office and leave a long message stating he has not received services and no one will help him etc.. but when I tell him to use the services he informs me he does'nt want them...or that they are too far away ..excuse after excuse...He has it set in his mind that he is ENTITLED to a refund of $2950. Now that he has complained to the Revdex.com to try and bring down my A+ rating , my refund offer has lowered to $2200. He stated in this complaint he cant believe we would keep the rest of his money...but I informed this family he can have 100% of the services or if I am going to give any money back (even though I do not have to) that it will be buying him out of this contract and we will not longer have anything owed to each other. Everytime he complains to an organization that then hurts my reputation my refund amount offer will go down...This family has already cost me much financial loss with my rate increase, hours of rebutting false allegations and daily dealings with this family that is taking me away from other clients. I am going to refund this family $2200 over 2 installments: first installment is today 2/25/14 of $1100 and the 2nd installment is 3/4/14 for $1100. If this family will not agree to this then my refund in any amount if off the table and the contract is reinforced in which he will have the $11,800 worth of services credit. We are a nation of laws. We have done nothing wrong to this family. They are just upset that they are not getting the outcome they so cleverly thought would get them out of my contract. Please do not allow this complaint by this family to be duplicated to the Revdex.com or to allow this closed case to affect my rating.I am always open to arbitration with any family in order to stop the constant texts and phone calls regarding a matter that has already been decided in my favor.Sincerly[redacted]OwnerConsumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)We notified the agent who signed us up that we were not moving forward immediately, and notified our bank to not process the charge, immediately. I don't understand why someone would want to keep another person's $5900, after they immediately notified you they changed their mind. With regards to the so called untruths he states, all I stated to my bank's credit card division was that the JRP Southeast took advantage of a mother with her two young children. The children of course are excited, and the company plays to that. After looking the company up on the internet, I immediately found numerous complaints. There were very few untruths as he states in my chargeback attempt with my bank. Mr. [redacted] stated that he offered me a $2950 refund. That is false. He never did so. I have texts where I suggested a $3000 refund. He didn't accept that. I would have accepted $2950, half of my money, for absolutely no services rendered at all. I could not have had the funds that day as he states. Eventhough he said he wanted a fast resolution to this back in November, it nothing happend for 3 months until I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com. I tried to text him, call him, and he didn't respond for days at a time, sometimes after a week. So, he is not being truthful about the $2950 offer he suppossedly made me. It is no where in our text communications. The fact that the arbitration took until Thanksgiving to play out doesn't matter (with regards to having to pay the credit card bill). The event we signed up for in our home town came and went that summer. The services that we paid for, which we immediately changed our mind about and tried to cancel, were no longer available to obtain. This complaint won't hurt his reputation any more than it already is. A quick google search brings up numerous complaints. I just wanted half my money back, and I would have walked away, and never bother him again, nor file a complaint. This seems to be the only recourse I have. He also stated that he would refund $2200 in two installments, with the second one being March 4, 2014. That didn't happen either. He has been unreponsive to the texts I sent him trying to confirm the $1100 credit, which he stated he would give. So, in conclusion, I feel others who somehow choose to do business with Mr. [redacted]'s company should know what I went through. No other respectable businesss would not offer a refund for a product or services that someone immediately stated that they changed their mind about. Could you imagine [redacted] getting away with this? Could you imagine pre-paying a CPA or doctor, and then not actually using those services, and having to go through this to get some/all of your money back? I don't know how he sleeps at night. It isn't all that easy to make $5900 these days for a lot of people. I'd gladly take $2950, the offer he stated he made but never actually made to me, and walk away, and remove all disputes and move on.Final Business Response

This is the copy of an email I sent to this company following my son getting chosen to participate in this company. This company is unreliable and very unorganized. I just hope to save other parent's some money!! My son was chosen to be in your showcase in [redacted] Ne following this we paid you $637.00 with the rest to be withdrawn the following week. We were promised in the contract we signed, 3 or more rehearsals sessions. The first [redacted] coaching session was approx. 20 minutes long, my child was told he was not able to use the monologue he had already memorized because other kid's had already picked it. So he was told to use 2 new ones that the "coach" had picked out, she told him that she would contact us in 2 weeks and told him to know the material..long story short this did not happen. Now I realize the contract I signed states this money paid is not refundable but I do not believe we should have to pay the other half that was not taken out on 2/3/2014 as stated on the contract. My son did not attend the showcase because he was not confident enough to do this because of a lack of communication from your coaching staff. Two attempts were made to contact my family after this and one of them was at 2100, which is past my son's bedtime. There was never a constant plan to call at a specific time, the coach's often didn't even know the time difference from what state they lived in and our's. I hope this bad experience does not reflect how your company does business.Thank you for your time.[redacted] RNDesired Settlement637.00 The amount I paid for this business that was not as stated in the contract.

John Robert Powers agency guaranteed we would receive a agent or a full refund. John Robert Powers was fraudulent deceptive and misleading.John Powers agency guaranted in writing that both my children would receive an agent or a full refund. we have not received an agent. after talking with several of the parents involved we discovered that the powers agency charged familes different amounts for the services that they promised to provide. John Robert Powers agency failed to advise family members that there would be additional cost moving forward. After the funds were paid it has been impossible to contact owners at JRP production studios and I pop once over $8,000 had been paid no one has returned my phone calls.I have been contacted by people I do not know and I've never met seeking to receive additional funds.Desired SettlementI wish to have a complete refund of the $5,900 submitted to John Roberts production company on September the 8th and the 2700 dollars paid to JRP I pop on October the 14th 2013.we have not signed with an agent and we are entitled to receive a complete please refund of any monies paid to JRP production studios and any of its affiliates.[redacted] on behalf of minor child [redacted]Business Response We are sorry Ms [redacted] feels the way she does as stated in her complaints. We are not sure why Ms [redacted] felt compelled to issue 3 different complaints with the same issues duplicated in each complaint. Being that each complaint is assigned a case number I will address each complaint/case number separately. Unfortunately Ms [redacted] has stated a lot of mistruths in her complaint to make her case sound stronger. If everything she stated was actually true she would not be the only person from this group filing a complaint to the Revdex.com. No one in her group nor anyone that was in the same program as the [redacted] family has had anything negative to say nor has any other family complained about any of the issues Ms [redacted] states in her complaint. I believe Ms [redacted] would have a legitimate complaint if her issues were shared with other families in her same group but being the only parent to file a complaint with the Revdex.com we have to conclude Ms [redacted] is an isolated case full of mistruths in her complaint. We have not heard any negative comments about our event until we received these complaints faxed to us from the Revdex.com the very same day that we discovered that Ms [redacted] had her credit card company perform a chargeback of all the monies she had paid us also using the same false claims and mistruths. I will need to address each issue Ms [redacted] stated in her complaint:It needs to be said that Ms [redacted] willingly brought her 2 children to our audition for the [redacted] on Saturday Sept 7 of this year. Everything was explained in detail to the group about the event and what would take place as well as the prices to attend the event and rehearsals. Ms [redacted] was also given all of the information in a take home booklet for her to read and decide if it was what she wanted for her children. Ms [redacted] was told to go home and talk to her kids and read the information. Ms [redacted] was told that registration was callled that evening and told her if she wanted her kids to participate she was to return the next day at the registration venue. Ms [redacted] returned the following day wanting her kids to participate. She also began telling us how she is on disability due to not being able to find a full time job with the high level of education that she has. So knowing that she was on a limited income WE OFFERED T O SPONSOR ONE OF HER CHILDREN 100%! We talked to Ms [redacted] about the different categories she wanted her kids to perform in and that due to her being on disability we would offer to sponsor one child if she could pay for the other child. THIS IS NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF SOMEONE....QUITE THE OPPOSITE....WE OFFERED TO HELP TAKE THE FINANCIAL BURDEN OFF FOR ONE CHILD. MS [redacted] GLADLY ACCEPTED OUR OFFER OF KINDNESS AND SHE DECIDED WILLINGLY TO PUT HER CHILDREN IN OUR CAREER PROGRAM. WE SPONSORED ONE CHILD FOR $5900 AND SHE PAID FOR THE OTHER CHILD FOR $5900. She gave us her credit card to swipe and signed all of the paperwork.Everything that is included in our Career Program in in writing in our brochure. We even had announced that one of our celebrity clients would be appearing at the kids final showcase day. Ms [redacted] received every bit of service that was written in our brochure. 1. Written Guarantee- yes, our Career Program comes with a Written Guarantee that if the performer does not get an offer of representation from the [redacted] Showcase we do offer a full refund. This means an agent offers the talent a contract with their agency for a certain length of time. This is the ultimate goal of every performer that perform in our [redacted] Showcases. However, only the Career Level performers are offered the guarantee. This is the main premise of Ms [redacted]'s complaint- I do not know how she can state that her There was no unorganization as she claimed. One of the extra scheduled rehearsals got moved up 1 hour due to the hotel not informing us of an event that was scheduled in the same room as we were...however, we handed out notices of this change a full week before the date. The showcase was exactly where it was always booked as it was on the schedule. So I am not sure why Ms [redacted] chose to exaggerate this. It is interesting how she never brought any of these issues up before the final showcase.AGENT CONTRACT OFFERS FOR BOTH OF HER CHILDREN-this is the main krux of this complaint. Ms [redacted] knows very well that both of her children RECEIVED OFFERS OF REPRESENTATION FROM THE AGENTS IN ATTENDANCE!HER DAUGHTER RECEIVED A CONTRACT OFFER FROM THE [redacted] AGENCY, [redacted] AGENCY. HER SON RECEIVED AN OFFER OF REPRESENTATION FROM ALL 3 AGENTS IN ATTENDANCE- [redacted] AGENCY, [redacted] & [redacted]I even have the email corresponsdence evidence between Ms [redacted] and the agent at [redacted] Ms [redacted] received emails from these agents with all of their information and what the next steps are to offically have her children represented by these agencies. Ms [redacted] responded stating HOW EXCITED SHE WAS AT THIS LIFE CHANGING EVENT AND LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH [redacted] AGENCY AND WOULD READ OVER THE PAPERWORK AND START GETTING THE AGENT ALL OF THE NECESSARY MATERIALS NEEDED TO HAVE THE AGENT START SUBMITTING THEM FOR AUDITIONS AND JOBS!!So please understand my shock when Ms [redacted] blatantly states this MISTRUTH. The only reason Ms [redacted]'s children do not have an agent is DUE TO HER OWN DECISION NOT TO PERSUE THE OFFERS!! JRP did exactly what we told Ms [redacted] we would do. Ms [redacted] does not deserve a refund or to chargeback her card for the amount of $5900 BECAUSE SHE GOT EVERYTHING SHE PAID FOR PLUS ONE OF HER KIDS WAS SPONSORED 100% AND BOTH OF HER CHILDREN GOT OFFERS OF REPRESENTATION BY VERY STRONG TALENT AGENCIES IN HER REGION- AS PROMISED! [redacted] Agencies that attend our showcases are all run by different owners and are licensed by the states they are in. Ms [redacted] was informed by an entire section of our WELCOME ABOARD NEWSLETTER that was in the folder that she downloaded her childrens materials to perform, detailing exactly what to expect after an agency offers a performer a contract. It states very clearly that agencies have been authorized by the [redacted] to charge a nominal website fee to cover the agencies cost of creating a webpage or uploading images of a new talent onto a website that has to be maintained. It explains that before the electronic age of digitial media that all actors and models were responsible to make duplicates of their headshots and/or zed cards and make sure their agent always had a supply of these duplicates because agents used to have to physically pull the cards off a shelf and courier them over to casting directors and ad agencies daily ...duplicates could run a talent $150-$250 monthly. NOW THAT TALENT NO LONGER HAS TO SUPPLY THEIR AGENTS WITH THE MATERIALS THE AGENTS HAVE FOUND THEMSELVES HAVING TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN SOPHISTICATED WEBSITES THAT CASTING CAN GO INTO AND PICK TALENT AND ALSO THAT CAN CREATE TALENT PACKAGES FOR AN AGENT TO SEND CASTING DIRECTORS.THIS COST IS MUCH MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE THAN SUPPLYING DUPLICATE PICTURES EVERY MONTH TO YOUR AGENT... Ms [redacted] knew this was expected and it states in our Newsletter all about this. WE NEVER REC'D A CALL OF CONCERN ABOUT THIS.CORRECTION: MS [redacted] KEEPS REFERRING TO OUR COMPANY IN HER COMPLAINT AS AN 'AGENCY'. JRP STUDIOS, JRP SOUTHEAST, JOHN ROBERT POWERS, IS NOT AND HAS NEVER STATED ANYWHERE THAT WE ARE AN AGENCY. MS [redacted] is stating that we have'nt returned her calls- BECAUSE SHE HAS NEVER LEFT US A MESSAGE. We have a full time staff Mon-SAt and we never have rec'd any call or calls from Ms [redacted] about any issues or negativity to address. Ms [redacted] is stating that all these people are calling her for more money that she does not know ....-this is not us so I don't know who or what she is referring to because once the showcase was over her kids were offered an invitation to attend a national talent convention in Los Angeles based on their performance. This is a completely separate company that Ms [redacted] excitedly put a down payment down for her kids to attend of $2700. Our company is simply the facilitator for this national event. We agree to take the payments from clients and allocate them to the hotel and to the organization called [redacted] We did exactly what Ms [redacted] was informed we would do - we took the funds she put as a down payment and forwarded them to the hotel and the organization to reserve her hotel room and their spots at the event. We do not have her funds but yet she has done a chargeback and these funds have now been taken out double due to sending her initial payment to the correct entities. Plus Ms [redacted] signed an agreement for this national event stating that all monies are NON REFUNDABLE. MS [redacted] HAS NOT BEEN MISLEAD OR SCAMMED. ACTUALLY IT IS THE REVERSE. WE WISH MS [redacted] THE BEST OF LUCK IN HER FUTURE.Final Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I filed multiple complaints because my compliant against john Robert Powers (JRP) involved misconduct, abuse and deception against three separate individuals, myself, child one [redacted] and child 2 [redacted] so complaints were filed on behalf of each individual victimized and taken advantaged of by JRP.when an individual or company intends to scam, deceive or take advantage of you they come into town, need immediate answers, request immediate payments on the site. They act quickly so you don't have time to think things thru or do you research then before you know it they're gone as quick as they came. JRP came to[redacted] on Saturday Sept7th at the [redacted] garden Inn had a Hispanic man share how his daughter went through this months prior, they casted his son and now his wife and daughter live in LA working, gave it an all thumbs up. sounds good huh. Same day my children do a one minute audition for [redacted] who says [redacted] says "We want you both see you tomorrow your in". We get a call Saturday Sept 7th @11pm saying be at the country in [redacted] by [redacted] in [redacted],Ga Hwy 80 at 1:30 pm. we arrive and 3hours later we are still sitting and waiting. Finally the African American sitting in the lobby with us behind the desk greeting the JRP quest sees I am in pain. She gave me her business card [redacted] XXX-XXX-XXXX, onespiritdance.org and stated she was a dance teacher she goes inside and lets JRP know I have been waiting for a long time. My children auditioned for [redacted] the day prior on Sat. I told [redacted] that I had only come to audition my daughter who sings and dances but when he introduced himself and said "I'm not looking for those with tattoos leave, ear piercing other than a girl in her earlobe, leave, we are a spirit based company and we're not looking for hoochie momas." [redacted] said "We want that child that gets on your last nerve, never stops talking and things they know everything. I,looked at my quiet shy daughter and said I've got the wrong kid. I got up left in the middle of [redacted]'s speech walked out to the main lobby and got my son and told him to memorize the piece of paper in my hand (a commercial). On Sun the very next day at the [redacted] GA. hotel they put me with [redacted] who had no paper work on us, knew nothing bout us and had never met or talk to us on the previous day (Sat). [redacted] appeared lost and confused. She walked across the room in all the chaos so she could not find our paper work with [redacted]. they could not find our paper work either but they spoke briefly and she said here let the children go outside and we will talk privately. It was total chaos, the doors to the hotel were open because it was hot and the AC was obviously broken. [redacted] says, "Here we are going to make you a deal, I cant' find your paper work but you auditioned with [redacted] yesterday right". I said yes. She responded well we are going to make you a deal you pay the full $5,900 for one child as a career client and we will sponsor the other child. sounds like a great deal huh!!, they must believe in us they must believe my children have talent right.I explained to [redacted] "I was on a limited income with disability and if I invested this much money I needed to know I would get a return on my investment, anyone can shoot a commercial or a pilot but unless it airs or is picked up for a series no one gets paid. I asked her to write on my contract guaranteed 2 TV commercials. She went back to [redacted] returned with my contract. we have been there now close to 4 plus hours, I am clearly in pain with my lumbar back brace and cane so what she wrote on the contract appeared to state what I had requested, signing a contract under valium, Fentanyl and Pristiq can bring on more confusion with fatigue and escalated pain. Whoever responded to my complaint stated made numerous untrue statements and I will address each of them:A)Why didn't more people complain, they did in [redacted] How many people have work done on their cars, or house (painter, plumber, landscaping and found the work unsatisfactory but don't take the time to file a formal Revdex.com complaint just cut their losses, hire someone else, and move on. B)Others that actually argued with [redacted] at [redacted] were [redacted]. I would recommend the Revdex.com do a thorough investigation and require JRP to turn over all it's contracts from parents and clients from [redacted] and the John Robert Powers Agent Showcase. I can assure you all Career clients got calls from at least 2 agents so JRP would not have to refund the money but their records will show I am sure if it were just a client they may not have gotten calls back because JRP had nothing to loose. I called [redacted] and told her I paid the 2600 to [redacted] but if not agents give me a guarantee then why would I think moving on to LA would be any different. How can JRP guarantee you an agent if the agents charge $199.00 to work with your child. If you operate a website in the real business world we call the "Overhead cost" the cost of operating your business and that is the business owners responsibility. If you are going to guarantee me something them you as an honest business person have a sense of moral obligation to reveal hidden fees. If you guarantee me something you are agreeing to give it to me no strings attached unless you reveal them upfront other wise you have acted fraudulently. A career client I pad for my children to perform 2 monologues,2 commercials and 1 scene. [redacted] refused to practice or do a 2nd monologue with [redacted] because [redacted] felt se could not handle it. That was not [redacted]'s decision to make, don't ask my children do what I paid you to do. My children attend a academically challenging private school and have vigorous studies. It's not like this was their full time job they were paid to sit a memorize lines. I did [redacted]'s job. They did not even [redacted] with the scene coach [redacted] as scheduled by JRP until Tuesday 10/1/13 on top off full days at school and homework and then were expected to perform the scene on stage with [redacted] just 4 days later in [redacted]like I said every thing was last minute, rush ,change this , go here, no go there. We were given a schedule to go to Burnswick Ga to the [redacted] for 10/05/13 but that changed last minute after I had already made my reservation. If they are so professional and have this experience why was it all so rush, rush, chaotic. Every sheet I signed with John Robert Powers states in the heading: John Robert Powers Agent Showcase rules and regulations; JRP Studios Agent Showcase Agreement. Then after the Agent [redacted] showcase which convened about 4 pm on Sunday 10/13/13 we went to eat and then to sleep to prepare for the drive back to[redacted] I meet with [redacted] representing [redacted] at 8pm Monday night, [redacted] has my 14 year old daughter fill out her contract please by attention to the hand writing. the kids are tired and wrestles which is distracting our conversation so [redacted] sends them out of the room at 8 pm at night in a Hotel on the busiest Street in[redacted] so now I am even more distracted worrying were are my kids. I am tired, it's been a long weekend, they didn't give us a few days to relax for the long week they immediately want you to sign another contract insisting [redacted] has to get it done today because [redacted] and [redacted] have already left and [redacted] has dinner plans with a friend later tonight then he leaves first thing in am.You look at the sheet [redacted] Credit card Authorization it states you pay the $2,700.00, [redacted] X's out the bottom so it appears exhausted at 8 pm nothing else is due. Then you get to [redacted] Performer registration and I initial their are extra fess for additional categories but you have not signed any thing to pay for that. Note the hand writing on Performer Registration and look who filled it out (not my handwriting). Now we get to [redacted] Participation Contract guess who filled that out, that would be [redacted]. The middle page shows $2,700 received total balanced carried of my god it looks like [redacted] also wrote zero a circle with a line through it. Are you exhausted yet with paper work, hold it yeas it's now about 10 pm but one more sheet,I have to feel out [redacted]'s, notice I am so exhausted I miss up the first letter in my name no it's my sons name I am trying to spell. [redacted] YOU PAID $5,900 ON 8/8/13, YOU JUST CHARGED YOU CARD ANOTHER $2,700 ON 10/14/14 BUT WAIT THEY WANT ANOTHER $5,400!!!Pay attention to the dates of the schedules, payments made everything was rushed, manipulates, deceptive, confusing and dishonest. JRP took photos I paid for. We were high pressured sold into a service provided by JRP to get my daughter on TV/ads/music what have you. We were given a 5 minute time frame and told this was our only opportunity. We agreed to do it, paid $2,500 and left. The date 1/26 at noon that day. Immediately having reservations. We attempted to contact them that same night at 9:15 P.M. contacting the phone number XXX-XXX-XXXX by a guy named [redacted] who said we could contact him anytime with concerns or questions. No response.1/27 9:00 A.M. Contacted the same number and left message that we wanted to cancel and to refund our money.1/XX X:XX A.M. Called JRP at XXX-XXX-XXXX left message to cancel1/27 (4:00 P.M.) Left a message for [redacted] Leader (XXX-XXX-XXXX) that we needed to cancel. 1/28 (7:11 A.M) Emailed JRP Studios that we wanted to cancel. At 11:49 A.M. I received a response from [redacted] that he would forward my e-mail to [redacted] and [redacted] (11:35 A.M.) I emailed [redacted] and thanked him for his quick response.1/28 (2:56 P.M.) Received another e-mail from [redacted]. He said [redacted] would call me later in the day.1/29 (8:21 A.M.) I emailed [redacted] to let him know I had not received a phone call from [redacted].1/29 (6:38 P.M.) I received an e-mail from[redacted] saying she's sorry for the miscommunication and that she'd like to speak to my daughter.1/30 (A.M.) I responded to[redacted] saying I'd like to pass ** the opportunity and just wanted my money back.1/30 (p.m.) Emailed back to[redacted] and stated that the charge has now hit my account. And ask they reverse it immediately.1/31 (A.M.) Emailed[redacted] and said that I needed this cleared immediately and if not I would contact the Revdex.com and Credit Card company tomorrow, (2/1/14) and ask for the charges to be returned.Product_Or_Service: Agent Showcase AgreementDesired SettlementCredit my credit card back for the charges.Business Response see attached pdf I would like to have this matter go to arbritration. The bottom line is that we are a nation of laws. There are some people who believe contracts and signatures and policies can be null and voided by shouting loud enough or try to skew the truth to try and prove that somehow they were victim to bad business practices. We offered this family to sponsor more than them for their daughter to participate in our showcase. They agreed, signed the contract, initialed where it stated it was 'non refundable' ,paid the balance they were responsible for and went home. We called to service them via [redacted] coaching and we were informed by our coach that this family wanted to cancel and get their money back. I can allow this family to downgrade their contract to 2 categories/$1650 but I cannot allow a family who willingly comes back to see us the day after we give them all of the pricing information and take up our time/ allow us to sponsor a larger portion than the family/ knowing we were giving the daughter the largest sponsorship of the entire day / have many opportunities to decide not to commit to the contract/ and now say he was pressured? They are welcome to downgrade to the 2 category $1650 and I will refund $850. If they do not want this and still are adamant about getting a full refund then I request arbitration after I get the final results of the chargeback that this family did.I am more than fair with clients. What I cannot tolerate is untruths to make their case look better for them. Why should this family be able to void a legal contract they signed? the answer is that they 'should not'. I am very sorry this family has changed their mind about our services but changing their minds does have consequences financially. This family has a credit with our company they are welcome to use anytime they want. I will never deny them service or the terms of the contract signed. Its not different than buying a product at a store with a return policy of 'merchandise credit only'. Just because this family does not like the policy should not entitle them to be able to have a 3rd party override it.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I do not and have not disputed the fact we signed a contract and initialed the contract. What I dispute is the methodology of the entire process. Additionally the fact you are high pressured in a situation and given an ultimatum to sign or the opportunity "will not be there again". Withing 6 hours we were regretting the decision made under what I'd consider "high pressure".It was interesting the fact that the first thing they mention during their presentation was the fact there are many negative comments about their company on the internet. They defended that for about the first 10 minutes of their presentation. Next they prey upon the fact any parent in this generation including myself always thinks there kid is the best and is capable of great things. They go over a number of there success stories. What they fail to mention are the high number of people that pay a lot of money and never get anything out of it, but it pad there pockets. Actually they get some internet training and a showcase event. What they also fail to mention in there response is that I attempted to contact them the same day with regret. That gentleman never contact me. Then told them I wanted to cancel. They NEVER told me I could not. I did receive on phone call and he was pretty good but never followed up. I also received an email that I assumed was[redacted] (see attached string of e-mails)and it was going to be OK to cancel. I contacted them 6 days straight and essentially got very little and the last thing was no follow through from [redacted] and/or[redacted]. One last point. I've mentioned and want to reiterate. It was high pressure, preying upon getting "the best" for your kid and the fact the same day I signed expressed not wanting to do it and wanting to cancel and followed with my communication to them 6 days in a row be it phone call or e-mail.Pleaes note the absence of no follow through from[redacted] despite at least two communciations that she would contact us. I did try her and left her a message on two different occations I believe on Jan 30 and Jan 31.Thank for your consideration. [redacted]AttachmentPSfor what it is worth, I am a single dad and at this point there is no support from her mother which was the original belief. We will have to eat the entire $2,500 which would be much better suited toward school tuition.Final Business Response
