Southeastern Camera & Supply Reviews (2)

With so many smartPhones around us, everyone is lucky to get a "once in a lifetime" opportunity. As high-end cameras get cheaper and cheaper, one tends to graduate to serious camera equipment. Very often, folks end up buying online. What they miss is genuine and one-fashioned customer service.
A local store (Southeastern for example) is an excellent choice when it comes to meeting your needs. The staff consistently aim to provide top-notch customer service. Their time and help has been of high value for me. Here is one example:
Warranty Claim: Southeastern gladly offered to handle this for me since I bought them from them. More importantly, I was offered a spare for me to use while mine is under repair. They take care of sensor cleaning and handling other repairs that they can take care of.","pos-1

false advertising on their website June 28th (10AM) I called southeastern camera to inquire a price on their [redacted] which was advertised on their website for $1,999. I spoke to a lady on the phone and she said that it was an old price and they wouldn't honor the price (VERY misleading). she stated the camera body was $1,699 and the camera w lens was $2,299. Once again nothing was $1,999 as advertised on the web. The picture on their website is a picture of the camera with lens. When I asked her that the picture had lens she said that the price didn't include the lens - even though the picture once again had lens. There are other pictures on their website which show cameras without lens. I then asked to speak with a manager (male) and told him that I wanted to purchase the camera that was advertised on their website and said he couldn't sell it at that price even though it's advertised on their website. Once again this is very misleading and false advertising.Desired Settlementplease correct the price on your website and do not mislead the publicBusiness Response Thank you for your email. I talked with the two employees he spoke with and looked over the website page that the complaint is about. I think the misunderstanding stems from the title not being as clear as it should be to help our customers. A [redacted] is a camera body. Even though both the title and the description included only the camera body, the photo shows the body with a lens, showing how it could be used. I think this could be misunderstood especially if you are unfamiliar with the product. I have instructed our web person to be clearer in the future. I understand that everyone will try and find the best price on an item that they would like to purchase. In some cases a customer could be confused about how a picture can portray an item in service. [redacted] website uses pictures of the camera and lens combination with a starting body price, although they don't include the lens. Photography terms are quite vague sometimes and can be confusing. When the customer called to confirm the price on the website, I imagine he did not understand what was covered in the ad. If he had been sure of the item, he would have purchased it online without calling in to verify. In fact, we told him that we could offer a lower price for the camera body by $300 from that on our website, and we had not updated the website yet because there was a recent instant rebate from [redacted]. This also would have been offered at time of checkout. Our customer service could have been better when talking to him over the phone. Even when a customer can be abusive or demanding, we should not take it personally. We will also realize we are humans and can make a mistake, so we have this Pricing Mistake Policy on our website, which states and I think is standard for most websites:"Despite our best efforts, a small number of the items in our catalog may be mispriced. If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation."We have updated the lower price on the camera body. I will also have this statement more prominently displayed on the website. If you have any further questions or comments, please contact me at [redacted] or by email, whichever is more convenient.Thank youSoutheastern Camera
