Thank you for the chance to address the people I've been serving for 30 years. We are a small tile company that after 30 years of serving Pensacola, 19 years as Southern Breeze Tile and 12 years as Seabreeze Tile, the Revdex.com for the first time has contacted me about a dissatisfied customer. Please know that after time and time again of trying to please this customer doing countless extra work, numerous punchlists there is no satisfying this person. The only reason I have given up is because of this course of action she has taken.

Complainant's response to business response to consumer dated 03/19/2019

I have read the document submitted by the business owner, Roy *** , after being notified for a second time by the Revdex.com of the above-referenced case. Instead of addressing address any of items listed in the initial complaint, he sang his own praises and reiterated his previous refusal to correct any of the items portraying himself as the victim.

Mr. was not asked to do any work he was not paid for. When I wanted to add something to the original contract, I asked him, he gave me a price and I paid it. Mr. had not mentioned any problems until I went over the things that needed to be corrected which was after he had been paid in full and I had not heard from him for several months.

There was only one punch list which was written by Mr. on 7/10/2018. When he came back to start on this list, he immediately became angry & aggressive; there was no calmly talking to him. His punch list reads as follows:

PUNCH LIST

1. Back door needsic caulked.
2. Covers for washer & dryer hook-up.
3. Check insulation in utility room and add if needed.
4. Splatter on wall from ceiling fix designated by blue tape.
5. Fill chipped tiles & color match.
6. Paint kitchen cabinets.
7. Touch up trim designated by blue tape.
8. Case beam in to. Matchsic sides on ceiling between kitchen & living area.
9. Repair tiles with blue tape.
10. Rehang kitchen doors to close.
11. Blue tape on walls that need to be painted.

HEATHER'S PUNCH
(This is my daughter. I had Mr. make her a cabinet also - before he completed mine.)

1. Heather's doors put style in and swing room door away from light.

He scheduled this work as follows beginning the next Monday.

Mon 7:30 -10:30 2 & 3 start 8

Tues 7:30 -10:30 5 & 9

Wed 7:30 - 10:30 6 & 8

Thurs 7:30 - 10:30 6 & 4 & 1

Fri 7:30 - 10:30 7 & 10

It was not until after he became so unreasonable and aggravated that I started to looking at everything he had done closely. During his rant he stated I got the quality of work I had paid for. I wasn't informed he had different prices for shoddy work. When I asked him if he had utilized previously used materials he stated yes, if you want new materials you have to specify that.

Although the items on my complaint were not answered in his response he did provide answers to me in writing which I received 01/28/2019 slipped in my door at 11:07 am. It was after that time, when I could see there was no reasoning with him, that I filed the complaint. His response reads as follows.

1. Every piecesic of material in your job is new. Except small dead wood used to shim to top of cased opening that I did for free after you agreed the ceiling was fine (and you wanted it flat). CONSUMER RESPONSE: I did ask to have it cased after it was so obvious that the area where the casing went was so flat and did not match the ceiling. Mr. came back the next day with the casing done with the trim meeting at a 90 degree angle instead of being mitered. He knew that this would be unacceptable and by this childish action wasted his time & money.
2. When a hole in your ceiling was made.sic Instead of just fixing hole which I was obligated to do. sic Out of trying to be nice I said I would scrapsic popcorm & paint entire ceilings. Kitchen, dining hallway for free! Never said I was going to make slick finish. Very expensive maybe 1,500.00. I did about 800 dollars by the work I did for free. CONSUMER RESPONSE: The hole in the ceiling was caused by an electrician Mr. hired to do some electrical work. His foot went through the ceiling right at the place where a wall had been removed to enlarge the door opening. The ceiling at that opening needs to match the rest of the rooms that are an open area. Mr. said he would have to do the scraping to make the ceilings match. I never asked him to make a slick finish, but I did expect it to be consistent.
3. I never gave you a price for moving plumpingsic in kitchen for washer and dryer. Look at your contract. CONSUMER RESPONSE: I did not ask you to do any plumbing work. You should have encased the pipes for the water & drain to the washer and electrical plug for the dryer when you did the drywall instead of just leaving large holes around the pipes and electrical plug.
4. The agreement on utility room was to tape drywall not finish for paint. CONSUMER RESPONSE: After you worked on the utility room to satisfactorily tape & mud the room for painting (3 times still not right) I told you to just leave it ready to paint as my grandson always wanted to paint & I would let him do it. You asked me if I was sure, I replied yes.
5. If you don't believe the insulation in wall is not to code check it. CONSUMER RESPONSE: You stated you didn't know there previously was insulation on the ceiling over the utility room, so I know you did not put any. When you checked, instead of crawling in the attic to look, you cut out part of the ceiling to see. You stated there was just some on the piece you cut out. If the insulation was done correctly, you could not have been able to cut the ceiling open like you did and put it back. Also, I did see the insulation that you used in the walls and what I did see was obviously used thrown in the living room corner. It was definitely not new in packaging and that is when I asked you about used materials.
6. No where in contract did we discuss putting more insulation in ceiling but for free I opened ceiling and put a lot more. Crawl up and check. CONSUMER RESPONSE: I was there when you opened up the ceiling and supposedly put a lot more. You did not have any with you that day. And, you could not have put it up there with the ceiling cut like it was.
7. On more occasions than I care to count I cleaned up dog poop & pee. Except for the beginning of job in living room was stuff out of my way. The whole job everything I did I had to move furniture and animals. Time & money. CONSUMER RESPONSE: I asked you if you wanted me to move the dogs and you stated no, the dogs are fine. You said nothing about the furniture being moved until your response. You didn't move the furniture too far or cover it for protection because it was all covered in paint & dust.
8. I built you a cabinet that for some reason after seeing it you wanted me to build another one for your daughter. CONSUMER RESPONSE: The doors had been removed for you to take back and sand the inside of the doors which you initially failed to do. You just painted the raw, rough plywood. The doors are warped and do not completely close on either cabinet. The caulking at the top of the cabinet is cracking. I had stated I wanted the cabinets to match the other cabinets in the kitchen. The last time you came to my house you said you would get the wood, if I got the hinges. You were in the kitchen measuring, all the people and dogs were out of your way and in the living/bedroom. You stormed out yelling just stay in there and laugh & visit with your daughter?? I now have $50 worth of hinges that I ordered. On this date I stated I would be home and available for you to measure the cabinets at 4:30. I came home earlier and you were already at my house, I notified you that day, I did not feel comfortable being alone with you inside my house because of past behavior.
8.a. Go into home depot a cheap cabinet place and check the prices!! 200 for that size cabinet hardly pays for materials. CONSUMER RESPONSE: I asked you to build the cabinets and how much. You stated mine was $400 (in original contract) and Heather's would be $200; I said OK. I never tried to barter with you for anything free (labor or materials). I paid you on the same day you asked for a payment. On one day I gave you a check and your bank wanted to hold the check although they had verified it was good. You called me to see if I would go to my bank, stop payment on that check and give you cash to buy some tile for another job. I met you within an hour and did so.
9. I'm tired and broke trying to help you even if you are a widow. God knows I tried. CONSUMER RESPONSE: I am not a widow and God does know the truth. I do believe that you did try to intimidate me with your size and loud voice and doubt you would try any of these childish antics with a man. I cannot be responsible if you incurred extra costs and labor because either you miscalculated your expenses or because unforeseen incidents occurred or you are just unable to satisfactorily do the work. Please stop playing the victim, man up and do what you should have done months ago.
10. I could write 3 more pages on free work and materials I've spent on you. I'm sorry I need a longer break from you. Maybe when it warms up I'll check your door & change out peicesic of base behind fridge. CONSUMER RESPONSE: There is no
