I have spoken with people now and they are just stalling. When *** called me and left a voice message he then referred me to *** *** stating "call him regarding
your refund. When I spoke with Mr*** I had to reiterate the same information all over again. He then said he had to talk with *** - the person assigned to help me. He should have already spoken with him before calling me. If my only option is to take legal action please advise. Why do you think they keep changing their name and have other complaints for the same issues. They misrepresent what they doWhat *** told me day was not what transpiredThey were supposed to know where all the jobs are and have all the connections because they have been doing this and are experts with a 98% success rateI'm not really sure what they are investigatingThey did not do what they said....its fraudulent misrepresentation

We are still working to resolve this matter.

My experience initially with SSC was very promising. The attitude was uplifting and I was optimistic that I would be receiving assistance and support in my career search. I was provided with an outline of what assistance and guidance would be provided. It was indicated that while they would not get me a job, that I had to do the work, that I would be provided a network of contacts, and was given examples of successes I signed an agreement with what to expect, and to understand what was expected of me. Four weeks later, I still had not received what was to be completed on their end in Phase 1. I had difficulty getting appointments and treated as an employee, rather than someone who had paid for services. I had several unanswered emails, that were simply asking for a time line of when services to were be delivered. I was told that I needed to work on my network myself, and that would be hard work since I was new to California. My resume was reviewed and edited by my career advisor, however my career options, my objectives was never addressed, as was stated in the agreement. Suitable positions were never discussed as stated in their agreement. The resume that my career advisor came up with was not usable in my industry, which my advisor stated he had no experience with, and I had to completely redo the resume he created, including font. I am very unhappy with the service provided. When I indicated that I wanted a partial return of funds, and was told no, they did not do that. I stated I was willing to pay for the services I received. I was then told the corporate office would contact, which never happened.

The office itself is questionable. They are not able to scan documents and send them. I find this interesting with the type of business they are, this is not professional. I also am wondering about this mysterious 'corporate office'. I left a message for a vice president sighting my concerns early on that was never addressed. I feel that I spend more time and energy helping them help me than I was provided any assistance. The seminar was a power point presentation, that my advisor made several corrections to and verbally noted what he thought was wrong with it, but did not take any efforts to correct. They are his slides, on his computer I was confused why he did not make the corrections. To demonstrate his own professionalism, either own it and change it, or read it as it is.

I chose to go with Southern California Careers after hearing their positive Revdex.com standing and reading wonderful reviews. This was a horrible experience. The company first tried to deny I was a customer to prevent my review from being entered to Revdex.com, and then after I produced a receipt to Revdex.com, they continually stated they would honor the contaract. The problem was their inability to do so, not their unwillingness to say hey would. The company lays with words, and is not able to deliver what they offer.

+1

Review: When I was recruited by then [redacted], he presented a very convincing case - that they work with mid to high level executives to find their ideal job. They said only 20% of people do it this way having ac[redacted]s to 80% of the job out there. He reiterated that [redacted] has proven and effective proprietary system to achieve this goal. And that the career coach will also help me with interview prep, salary negotiations among others. He even told my husband, who was the signatory for the financing paperwork, that he has companies in mind for me to interview. That was my main decision factor.

Fast forward to our 2nd meeting with my career coach, [redacted] Wilson, and after asking questions on the process and seeing a sample career campaign, it dawned on me that all they will do is monitor your job search and help you practice on your interview skills and teach you how to negotiate. I asked him to show me how the system works and it's not what I expected. He also failed to show me how to search jobs using their proprietary system and after navigating it on my own, I found out, it is just Simply Hired embedded in their system. I tried reaching out to [redacted] but he was resigned already and he advised me to talk to the management as they are just and fair. So I did.

I am compelled to take an action against [redacted] after attempts to communicate to the [redacted] to consider rescinding my contract and exit the program has failed. I strongly believe I was misinformed about their service and I have the right to exit based on CA consumer rights. After all, all we have done so far is meet twice to get all these homework done and assist me re-write my resume by asking questions (which I offered to pay them for). I appreciate their genuine concern especially my career coach [redacted] never replied to my email & letter) to help me find a job but the servi[redacted] they are offering me are not what I signed up for. And I feel I was tricked into getting signing up.Desired Settlement: Cancellation of financing for this loan. And refund of the ones already paid to [redacted]

Response:

We have contacted [redacted] and are attempting to work out a resolution. We will update the Revdex.com once it is resolved.

Thank you,

California Executive Search

I was contacted by this company and brought in for a consultation under the premise that they were a recruiting service. Upon my first meeting with the VP, he had a great sales pitch on what I am doing wrong in my job search and how the company could do for me. We discussed my resume and which industry I see myself in and how the process worked at which point I had mentioned how recruiters receive their fees. He then said he would get to that point in our next meeting.

I came back the next day and that is when I dropped the bomb on "fees". He preceded to tell me that Southern California Careers charged a $6200! "retainer" which is non-refundable. He lost me immediately at that point. I told him I didn't have that kind of money and he continued to tell me that he takes credit cards, personal checks, and even to call a friend to use their credit card or cash out my 401k. My 401k?!?!

This a predatory company.

They do not have a website and data mine job posting sites to prey on job seekers.
