yesterday I ordered 5.5 yards of concrete to make a pour it should have been enough to pour with .25 yards left over before I finished the pour the truck ran out of concrete I had to pay them another 200 dollars in order to get enough concrete to finished I have been pouring concrete all my life and they say I measured wrong but they figured the same amount I did me personally don't believe they are sending enough material I work hard for my money and I don't need someone to just steal it from meProduct_Or_Service: concreteDesired Settlementthey should give me back my 200 dollars and admit they didn't send enough concreteBusiness Response On the date in question, the customer called in and gave our batch man measurements of the proposed job. We went off of measurements provided by the customer. A Southern Concrete Products employee did not measure the area to be poured. When customer did not have enough concrete to finish his pour, he ordered another 1/2 yard of concrete to finish. Our plant will not batch anything less than a yard accurately, so the batch man loaded a yard and charged a delivery fee for a small load (which is company policy).When customer saw the second bill, he proceeded to come into the plant and berate the batch man and plant manager by banging on the counter and yelling obscenities. Out plant manager informed him that he would waive the delivery charge if the customer would bring a check back up to the plant. We held the customers check for two days without hearing any word from the customer. After that, we deposited the check and have not heard anything else until this complaint was mailed to our office.Our scales are routinely checked and verified and certified by an outside entity. We pour thousands of yards for [redacted], various cities, and bridge companies that check yields and unit weights consistently.We DO NOT intentionally short any customer.We stand behind our CERTIFIED batch men.We think the plant manager handled the matter professionally.We were willing to waive the haul charge, but were unable to due to the CUSTOMER not bringing us a check for the adjusted price.As for the customers desired resolution:We DID tell you that we would waive the delivery charge. We vehemently deny that we did not send you enough concrete, and will not admit to any wrongdoing.
