I am rejecting this response because:The company said it would it would be a COMPLETE gut and did NOT complete the jobThere was NO snow while they were doing the work and my neighbor Mrs*** ***, *** across the street witnessed them standing outside
for a long time joking around, and they were there less than a weekThey Did damage the deck and the brand new hard wood doors that were installed prior to our move! My contractor *** *** at *** *** came over at our request and checked the property (***) and was astonished by the damage, debris, and garbage left at the houseThe job was left uncompleted and the testing was not even done .I am livid with Southern Connecticut for the blatant LIESFirst: we were told it was a COMPLETE gutSecond: There was no snowThird: They DID NOT complete the work and when my son and the insurance agent came to the house they AGREED it was left a mess, not completed, and damage was extensive! *** *** my son was there *** and was witnessI am tired of the games and liesThe total for a gutt is $and they were paid $18,for work left uncompleted and caused further damage and had the audacity to lie about their work ethicI have even more pictures but the they only allowed so muchthere were coffee cups left, water pools, dust and and no care to our propertyThere is no excuse for their behavior nor is there any conduct that warrants their blatant liesThe repair estimates were NOT covered, and currently the insurance company is in contact with my contractor to rectify their mistake

Worst experience I ever had dented my brand new refrigerator, dug up side of stove crooked back splash cant stand looking at it! and brand new floor they put in had to be replaced cabinets are put in but doors cant even be adjusted because those dont even match I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and I would run if you are thinking about hiring them! the owner Joe will not help you if you go to him either.Look else where for another company there are many good ones out there this is not one of them!

My contractor [redacted] at [redacted] came over at our request and checked the property ([redacted]) and was astonished by the damage, debris, and garbage left at the house. The job was left uncompleted and the testing was not even done .I am livid with Southern Connecticut for the blatant LIES. First: we were told it was a COMPLETE gut. Second: There was no snow. Third: They DID NOT complete the work and when my son and the insurance agent came to the house they AGREED it was left a mess, not completed, and damage was extensive! The total for a gutt is $6000. and they were paid $18,000. for work left uncompleted and caused further damage and had the audacity to lie about their work ethic. I have even more pictures but the they only allowed so much. there were coffee cups left, water pools, dust and and no care to our property. There is no excuse for their behavior nor is there any conduct that warrants their blatant lies. Review: February 27, 2015 The home at [redacted] was in the process of closing for sale. My son went to check on the home before closing took place to find Water everywhere. My daughter [redacted] contacted the insurance company [redacted] insurance policy #[redacted] claim #[redacted] in which the Agent assigned us Southern Connecticut Restoration. They went to the property the following morning and determined the house needed to be completely gutted and the damage substantial. Agent [redacted] who is the agent in question sent them a payment of $18,000. for a job that should cost $6000. and in return thought without even going to the house that a check for $22,000. issued to me was enough to fix a 5 bedroom house. Southern Connecticut restoration, did not only accept the money, but did NOT complete their work, left a mess and Damaged both my handicapped deck that was in pristine condition (worked and stained July 2013) and the new full wood doors leaving gouges, scratches, broken railings, and wood, left Debris everywhere, garbage, and uncompleted work. They have been asked to finish the work, and finish the pipe and electrical checks and have not been back to the property. Finally after complaint they came with the insurance agent (FIRST time physically there) on March 20, 2015 and promised to do the work if they would do renovation. They have not been back since and I had to hire [redacted] to clean up, finish the work left uncompleted, and fix the damage they have done to the property. Work can not be started because they have refused to come and do the test for the plumbing and electrical so the house sits in disrepair. I want a full refund or to bill Them for ALL the FULL amount of damage, work and repair and supplies and them to pay IN FULL to [redacted] so they can finally start work and COMPLETE the job Southern Restoration and [redacted] insurance has refused. this is clear incompetence and am DISGUSTED they took $18,000. and did not finish work, damaged the property further (can provide Pictures and witnesses) Mrs [redacted], pictures of damage and garbage.Desired Settlement: I want a full refund to me or to have them responsible for FULL payment of the work from [redacted] has to fix for their incompetence. There is an assessment made.

Review: I would not recommend Southern CT Restoration and wish to warn others through my complaint. My insurance company called them in when I had a pipe burst. They damaged my oven. At first, they told me they would take care of the repair and told me to get an estimate. It cost me $75 for the repairman to come out and write up an estimate. Once I faxed it to them, their story changed and the owner, [redacted], denied it was their fault and refused to pay. They also left nails and box cutter blades in my driveway for us to run over with our cars ... or for my young children to hurt themselves on. They did a terrible job of boxing up my contents, labeling boxes with things like "TV room"... leaving me to sort through 20 boxes to find items we needed. This happened in January and they boxed up all of our winter boots, etc. with no warning, frustrating as I have three children. They told us they were going to pack up one cabinet area, then proceeded to instead pack up the entire basement without giving us any opportunity to retrieve items... such as our computer modem. I guess they figured we wouldn't want to go online again for a few months until our basement was repaired. They took no steps to put up plastic sheeting to close off the damaged area as the removed sheetrock, etc., causing my entire house to filled with heavy dust and debris. When I raised these issues with Mike Puglisi, who was the foreperson, he walked away while I was talking to him. They removed the most minimal amount of wet drywall they could, leaving areas that were still wet days later. I had to pay to have a mold specialist come in and test my home. He ultimately found a lot of moisture behind the walls in the insulation and the entire area needed to be gutted by a mold remediation company at a huge expense. Overall, I found them to be rude and unprofessional. Since the insurance company is paying them, they just don't care.

This letter is Southern Connecticut Restoration's response to the above referenced complaint.

While we were recommended by the insurance company, Mr. [redacted] signed our contract to begin emergency water mitigation services. Upon our arrival a technician immediately mapped out a mitigation plan using water meters to trace the damage. The crew then started water extraction and remedied all areas of water damaged drywall and carpet. Drying equipment was then installed in the affected rooms. Over the next few days, we monitored the situation and remedied more drywall as necessary. We also boxed up the contents of the basement to protect these contents from further damage. This is the acceptable, standard process for mitigation services.

Mr. and Mrs. [redacted] were on site and very aware of all work being done in their home. They were most appreciative. As for the stove, it is our opinion that we did not cause this damage. The stove is no where near the damaged area. Photos of the stove sent by Mrs. [redacted] to the office, show deep scratches consistent with a heavy cleaning. Our estimate did not include cleaning of appliances.

Finally, Mrs. [redacted]' comment "they also left nails and box cutter blades in my driveway" is ludicrous. This is the first we heard of it. Our men are professionals and clean up after themselves.

We firmly believe we did not damage the stove and will not be swayed by false accusations.
