Summary: Overcharging for towing after an accident, and even trying to basically steal the cars from the customers This company is preying on the unfortunate victims of an automobile accident who don't have full coverage on their carsStory: Daughter wrecked a car, they towed it to their lot They towed the car about 10miles When I went to get the car out of their lot, the first question from them was if I had full coverage or just liability I only have liability on the car as it is paid offTthey informed me that it would be $PLUS the title of the car, so they could junk the car I informed them that I wanted the car, and was told I'd have to pay full price which was around $($225-Tow, $50-Storage, Plus cleanup, and winching) Their rate for towing is $for hookup and $per mile (which miles should be proud $125) When asked why it was $225, they said they HAD to charge that much because they were under contract with the local Sheriff's department, The other fees, I wasn't disputing, but the driver did absolutely NO cleanup, as the accident actually happened off the road I asked the Sheriff's department about this, and they set the MAXIMUM rate a towing company can charge for an accident tow at $225, it is not a set priceThe worst part is that they wanted me to sign the title over to them This car is years old but only has 26,original miles on it (it was my Grandfather's car before he passed away) When asked if I could drive the car off the lot, they told me it was un-drivable, and would need towed (another $hookup, and $per mile charge - another mile tow - so another $Charge) After I got the car back, the car only has body damage and a flat tire, and could have been driven if the flat was repaired (Car went off the road sideways into a ditch, and got banged up.) They gave me the impression that the car was totaled They were going to, at the least, junk it and get probably $additional from the junkyard, or they were going to sell it (either as is for parts, or fix it and sell it) - I checked the engines online, and could easily expect at least $from the engine, and another couple hundred from the transmission, and more from all the other parts that are still good Had my daughter been the one to pick up the car, she probably would have fallen for the $+ signing over the title - not knowing that it could easily be fixed
