Review: I had taken my yorkie for emergency services at VCA and they diagnosed her problem. They advised that she should be admitted. They originally wanted to take all these unnecessary test, which totaled $2000. I told them that I could not afford that much. They asked how much I could afford and that's when I contacted my husband. He stated no more then $1000. They came back with another itemized bill of $1008.66 and I said that was fine. I said I can't pay no more then that. On the form it states "this treatment plan is and estimate may range from $1009 - $1261. I asked [redacted] about that and she said that prints out on all the forms and since I told them I can't pay no more than what I stated they will not charge me more but also said that her take home meds would be about $40.00. I left a deposit of $759 which would leave a balance $249.66 not including the $40 for take home meds. When I picked my dog up this morning they said my total was $377.97. I asked why it was so much and they said because they had to give her 2 injections instead of one that was on my original bill and they knew this when they said she had to stay overnight. They know how many times in a 24 hour period they have to give meds but instead they only put 1. They also charged me for intensive 2 times and the original bill stated 1. They know how many times the shift would change in a 24 hour period. I feel as though they pulled the bate and switch game on me to leave my pup with them knowing if I didn't pay I could get her back. I am so disappointed in how they handled business and I feel as though they prey on people with sick animals.Desired Settlement: The additional above what I was told I had to pay.
