I brought my vehicle here for routine service and repairs until I realized how flagrant the Service Department is in recommending extremely expensive and totally unnecessary repairsAfter the Depttold me I needed all new gaskets, needed new windshield spray jets because mine could not be repaired, and finally told me I needed a WHOLE NEW ENGINE, I took my car to a Raleigh dealershipThe Raleigh dealer told me that I should not have gotten new gaskets because my records showed that I had gotten new ones only 20,miles prior (this is a once in a car's lifetime type of repair), they easily cleaned out my windshield spray jets, and told me after extensive diagnosis that I certainly had no need of a new engine, but that I needed an "O" ring to stop an oil leakThis is the same oil leak that I took my car back to Nissan four times for repair, and they NEVER could repair the leakMy car is in great shape now after working with an honest service departmentI have never worked with a group as outright fraudulent as Capital Nissan Service Department
I'm only writing this review now because my experience with Capital Nissan of Wilmington NC in November 2011 was horrendous and thus far I've failed to explain coherently why I think they took advantage of me . They talked me into accepting a 2011 Versa I didn't even like because they couldn't give me such a great deal on the 2012 Versa I wanted. They said that my present loan would be paid off and the payments on the amount of the new car would be very close, but didn't mention there would be 84 payments and not 60. Many hours later in the finance office I realized how they manipulated me and I broke down. I needed time so I could inquire about other trade-in and loan options, but they ignored my wishes. Calling the police would have been the only way to get out of there, but unfortunately I hadn't the wherewithal at the time. In addition to being treated like dirt, their cruel mind games and greediness cost me more than $6,000 on the trade-in vehicle I originally bought from them just 2-1/2 months prior. They forced the deal through and got the trade-in back to resell once again. I wonder If the despicable manner in which this dealership treats their customers is not illegal, how are they made to comply to any code of ethics. How are consumers protected? I've been in contact with the manager through all this time, but he remains adamant that they didn't do anything wrong. The only good faith effort on their part that I see was at the very end when they finally consented to sell me the car I wanted in the beginning. I am still seeking a resolution and/or closure so I can put this nightmare to rest.
