In regards to the complaint by *** *** ** April 5, 2017, please note that *** *** called and spoke with me directly I explained to *** *** that when a customer receives a payment from the *** for assistance and the customer moves off of the system, any monies left over is
returned to the State of WV This is not her money to receive a check from, this is money from the state and therefore, she would need to contact her caseworker and the state would then handle her heating issue with her and decide whether the assistance is still needed This is not a choice that the Southern Public Service Company natural gas utility has No monies should ever be refunded back to the customer for payment received from the state of WV Money is refunded back to the state and the state assists the customer and reviews their case *** was adamant that she was not going to call her caseworker and she feels this money should be given to her After speaking with *** ***, I called to verify with *** *** with the Charleston, WV *** ** *** *** *** *** to confirm that the procedure that the utility is handling the credits from the payments received from the state, is still consistent with the way the company and all utilities have always handled credits and should be refunded back to the state of WV*** *** confirmed that all monies go back to the state and not to the customer *** *** needs to call her caseworker and if she is not willing to do that, then she would receive no assistance, per J*** ***Please note that the WV *** *** *** regulates all gas utilities and must follow all rules and guidelines set by the state Possibly, the Revdex.com may want to address all utilities to make sure that they are following proper rules and regulations and also call the *** * *** *** ***) and confirm that proper procedures are followed by all utilitiesMonies should never be returned to the customer but should be refunded back to the state.In *** *** case, the credit returned to the state of WV was in the amount of $68.89, not the $that was indicated to you by the customer Please note that when inappropriate language is used in a derogatory fashion towards any of the utility representatives, the call is terminated immediately.Thank you for your concern and may this also assist you and others in future issues such as this.Best Regards, *** ***Comptroller SPSC

This service was disconnected at his wife's request which is joint on this account.  She had her name removed and Southern Public notified [redacted] that his service would be terminated if not paid.  [redacted] made no attempt to contact the gas company until his service was...

terminated.  [redacted] did speak with a [redacted] representative that gave him MY number in the corporate office. [redacted] just left a message at 1:57pm.  I have called him back immediately TWICE and he will not answer.  [redacted] is going to have to sign back up for service and pay everything he owes plus a deposit and a reconnect fee.  Southern Public is regulated by the WV Public Service Commission and follow the rules provided by the PSC. Unfortunately, [redacted] is trying to mislead you.  I can provide you with a pic of his caller ID and phone number and time he JUST called my number.  [redacted]  can call the [redacted] division and set up a time to have his gas service restored when he is able to pay the entire amount of $137.68.Thanks ,[redacted]
