Thanks for the review, ***. I am glad you are happy with the results of the project.

Failed to complete work in our signed contract. Will not communicate with us. Did not pay subcontractor. Will not provide us with paid invoices.
Date of contract 1-8-2019 to repair our house a total of *** to repair it. On 9-5-2019 he received a second check totaling *** that was to put the house at 90% complete, the remaining 10% in the contract was to repair the decking.
During the course of the contract the subcontractors have not been paid or have been paid weeks late.
During the demolition he removed parts of the house that should not have been removed causing our insurance company to not cover those costs and putting that financial burden on us.
This contractor has taken more money than he was entitled to for his profit and will not provide all paid invoices to us.
The house is at 55% complete on 11-24-2019 and he refuses to give back remaining money to complete the house or continue to repair it.

Desired Outcome

Money that is owed returned back to us and all paid invoices. Pay his subcontractors. Signed required documents for termination.

Mr., sorry you are upset with us. It was only one week ago that you guys wanted to use a different contractor. We are in Charlotte and you are in Jacksonville, NC which means I can't be there everyday. We are definitely going to pay anyone we owe money to but we are not going to do the job for free. Last week was extremely busy and I had my bookkeeper fall ill which is why I couldn't get you the financial information you desired. This is a holiday week. Just stay patient and you will get it.

Document Attached***
We never stated that we wanted to use another General contractor, you had from the beginning a local contractor doing the repairs and you paid them as they went, you having to come down was never an issue, you signed the contract knowing the distance. But paying the workers you hired has been an issue for you, *** still has not been paid and you have not contacted him either.
November 4th was the last day the house has had work done to it. We are in a legal contract with you to complete the house repairs.
You have received $55,119.04 which is to complete the house, so yes you have already been paid to repair the house itself, if something had gone over budget you never went to our insurance to inquire about it nor brought it up to us. We need all Detailed paid invoices emailed to us promptly.

Mr., I have been in contact with ***. If you want I will finish the job?

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It has been 5 days since your response and *** has not been paid and said you have not been in contact with him.

DRC just finished my new roof and I couldn't be happier! Their team worked with me and my insurance company and made the process easy and efficient. As soon as my insurance approved the claim, DRC scheduled and finished my roof in 2 short days. They made sure that I was happy with everything, cleaned up every single spare nail and left my yard looking perfect! I would definitely recommend DRC for all of your roof and construction projects!

I deposited $20,000 with contractor for repairs. they started work estimated at $4000. refused to complete repairs, refused to refund balance.
I hired the contractor 8/24/17 for repairs to home caused by an auto collision to our house. The home is not inhabitable due to damage from the wreck. Over a period of time the contractor, insurance adjuster, public adjuster (mine) and myself all agreed to needed repairs. I agreed to pay the contractor $20,000 (received from insurance) to start work. I paid the contractor on 12/15/2017 with check number *** from a *** account. Work started Jan 2018, workers began demolition work (2 days+/-) a structural safety issue caused work to cease. All parties again negotiated for a proper safe work remedy. A few months later the insurance company agreed to the additional compensation for the new work. Once payment was in hand from the insurance company, my public adjuster nor myself were able to get the Contractor to return to work site. After several months the contractor notified my public adjuster they were not going to return to the work site. Over the last several months promises from the contractor to return the unused portion of the initial payment were not provided. Requests for invoices detailing the contractors costs for work completed were not provided. Our estimate of work dome is +/- $4000. This number was based upon an initial contractor estimate of the work agreed to. To date I am still waiting for remainder of the $20,000 not used for my repairs. Without these funds I am put in a hardship position to pay any new contractor for repairing my uninhabitable home.

Desired Outcome

I am requesting the full $20,000 be refunded to me. I will accept a lower amount only if the contractor provides an itemized invoice detailing work completed and those associated costs. The invoice should be based upon using the estimate of work provided to the insurance company.

Mr. had an unusual claim where a car ran into his home at an angle that pushed the home in a way that it started to fall down. We argued on his behalf for almost a year with his insurance company that he filed a complaint against too and got a settlement that we felt was best for a different contractor to handle. The insurance company didn't want to bulldoze the home and rebuild it as they felt it could be saved but we respectfully disagreed with this conclusion and think the only way to make the home right again is to demo the home and rebuild it.

Mr. is correct that he gave us a check for 20k and we didn't do 20k worth of work and he will be getting a check for the difference however his number of us doing only 4k worth of work is incorrect and I will be sending him a breakdown of what we did and what we charged for it.

We wish Mr. and his Public Adjusting team all the best and have tried to help him during a process that has been very difficult dealing with his insurance company that he made a complaint against with the Revdex.com and the NC insurance department.
