Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint The response from DrKR [redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SC is inaccurate, misleading and contains many half-truths After the X-Rays were taken and while being examined in the dentist chair with my mouth stretched open I was quoted an estimate of $for theproposed work to be doneThere was no temporary bridge created or installed at this time .While paying for the services rendered I was then presented with an estimate of $6500, which was alarming since the price had just increased significantly in a matter of a few minutes.I did some research over the next few days on what was the usual and customary charge for the proposed dental work and discovered that it was significantly lower than whatDrKR [redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry was selling The dentist I subsequently went to took Xrays, impressions and created and installed a temporarybridge in about hours and his fee was $3009, exactly what he quoted to me as I was being examined There was none of the up-selling, bait & switch pricing and back billing I experienced at DrKR [redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SC There was no attempt to extort more money from an elderly person on a fixed income by back billing for phantom services like there was at DrKR [redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SCBy the way, just what is a Miscellaneous Adjustment fee for $anyway? Miscellaneous? Really? Do they need the money that bad? Or is it some type of retribution for seeing through their charade and taking my business elsewhere?Yes, I am a patient who has changed his mind but not wanting to pay for services never rendered I hope this report prevents others from falling into their trap Regards, R [redacted] T [redacted]

no impression, no appliance or bridge made

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. In response to the customer's statement, we would like to dispute many of his statements, which are inaccurate On the date of service,September 14, he presented with a fractured tooth Being a comprehensive dental office,
our practice is to give the patient all possible treatment options. Patient was given multiple treatment plan options so he could determine his next best steps. No plan was $as he stated; we did offer four different plans, with our most comprehensive plan being $5625. Patient chose the extraction route , which included the oral appliance, and he verbally consented to making an oral appliance, so that when his tooth was extracted, he would have something to smile with after the extractionAfter his consent, we took impressions of his teeth that day to begin to make the applianceUpon leaving the office, he paid for an evaluation/office visit and xray He called on September 19th to cancel his September 21, appointment, which was his appointment for the extraction and delivery of appliance. The patient informed us he no longer wanted to proceed with treatmentWhile we reserved the right to charge the patient the entire fee for the appliance, we simply and generously decided to only charge him the laboratory bill. The note on his bill states-Miscellaneous Adjustment-Lab fee for $133.00. Services were rendered, as he consented to, and no bait and switch has occurred. This is simply a patient who has changed their mind and not wanting to pay for services. We look forward to continuing to offer the finest dental care possible to our patients

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
The  response from Dr. K. R[redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SC is inaccurate, misleading and contains many half-truths.  After the X-Rays were taken and while being examined in the dentist chair with my mouth stretched open I was quoted an estimate of $5000 for theproposed work to be done. There was no temporary bridge created or installed at this time .While paying for the services rendered I was then presented with an estimate of $6500, which was alarming since the price had just increased significantly in a matter of a few minutes.I did some research over the next few days on what was the usual and customary charge for the proposed dental work and discovered that it was significantly lower than whatDr. K. R[redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry was selling.  The dentist I subsequently went to took Xrays, impressions and created and installed a temporarybridge in about 2.5 hours and his fee was $3009, exactly what he quoted to me as I was being examined.  There was none of the up-selling, bait & switch pricing and back billing I experienced at Dr. K. R[redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SC.  There was no attempt to extort more money from an elderly person on a fixed income by back billing for phantom services like there was at Dr. K. R[redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SC. By the way, just what is a Miscellaneous Adjustment fee for $133.00 anyway?  Miscellaneous?  Really?  Do they need the money that bad?  Or is it some type of retribution for seeing through their charade and taking my business elsewhere?Yes, I am a patient who has changed his mind but not wanting to pay for services never rendered.  I hope this report prevents others from falling into their trap.

Thank you for the submission in response to Complaint ID: [redacted].   R[redacted] received the following services on September 14, 2017; an evaluation, intra-oral film, along with an impression for his next steps.  We have 4 treatment plans on file and none of them are quoted for $6500.  I can share those dollar amounts if so desired for additional clarification.  The accusation of back billing, up-selling, and bait and switch pricing is inaccurate.  We have made no attempt to extort money from any person for phantom services.  As stated previously, the misc. adjustment fee on his statement denotes the following:  Miscellaneous Adjustment:  Lab Fee.  The Lab fee is for the impression that was taken for his next steps on September 14, 2017.  The lab bill we incurred for the impressions was $133.00.  We are not seeking retribution, nor are we participating in a charade.  We are glad he was able to obtain his services elsewhere however, he continues to be responsible for the $133.00 lab bill for the service. Services were rendered and patient is responsible for the services.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  I stand by my previous statements.  They offer no proof of services provided to back their false and misleading claims, eg impressions or appliances.  Dr. K. R[redacted] dba Sounthern Smiles Dentistry in Simpsonville, SC is simply trying to protect a Revdex.com rating they obviously do not deserve so they can continue to prey on elderly folks on fixed incomes.  My bill is paid in full.  PERIOD.
