I took my vehicle to Southern States Subaru for a clutch and flywheel replacement for my [redacted] transmission on 04/27/2015. My vehicle was towed in because my clutch had worn out and I told service that I would like a replacement and that I will be supplying my own parts for the install. They told me that they cannot warranty the parts because they are not OEM but the service is covered. I had the parts dropped of Tuesday and they repaired the vehicle on Wednesday so that I can pick it up Thursday afternoon. I came in paid collected my keys and proceeded to my vehicle. Upon reading my receipt I noticed they said I had missing bolts gaskets broken hangers heats shields and my skid plate that they replaced with a smaller one missing. Not only that I got into the vehicle and started it up only to find that the install was wrong. My clutch caused shock to the drivetrain and there was little engagement between gears. I believe they replaced my clutch and flywheel with shotty parts. I addressed this issue with the service department and manager about the issues and they insisted that the work performed was done and any other issues discovered were there prior to the service is not true. I had to leave with the vehicle in poor condition and also noticed I had transmission fluid leaking from the vehicle in my garage. I have since contacted [redacted] and filed a complaint. I also contacted the owner of the dealership twice to get this issue resolved and yet to hear from him.Product_Or_Service: 04/30/2015Desired SettlementI like for all parts returned that were taken from my vehicle a refund for the service performed and a coverage of any other additional damage done to the vehicle while in the their care. A refund of all the parts given to Southern States Subaru for install.Business Response As we have discussed with Mr. [redacted] we did not diagnose the vehicle in anyway per his request, and he told us what he wanted us to do and we did exactly that. He supplied the parts and he told us what was wrong with the vehicle and obviously we put the parts in because when he came to us it would not move and when it was picked up it was running fine he just felt that it was not exactly the way it should feel. He makes comments about us replacing with shotty parts, he provided the parts so if he feels the parts where shotty and that is the reason for the issue then as we stated on his work order, we do not guarantee the work because we are not providing the parts. We have done everything as asked by Mr. [redacted] and feel there is nothing that we can do. We are more than willing to do the repair our way which is have us diagnose it and get the parts from [redacted] and repair it.

Purchased new[redacted] and co-signed for wife. She and I were told I could be taken off the loan with on time payments after a certain time.June 2014 my wife went to Southern States [redacted] to purchase a new[redacted] as her old [redacted] had no heat or air.Put truck down as payment but she did not qualify by herself. I told her I would co-sign as long as I can be taken off loan which she verified can be done by [redacted] at that time as well as when I went to go co-sign.We were told after 6 months of on-time payments my wife can refinance thru [redacted] and take me off. After 6 months we call [redacted] and the story changes to now we have to wait one year. One year later after on-time payments [redacted] they do not refinance loans and we were told by [redacted] as well as the person going over paperwork with us at signing that this was possible.Oct 1st 2015 I go into [redacted] and now I am told by [redacted] that it is 18 months before anything can be done as well as having a 620 credit score.[redacted] stated 520 then 540 then 560 now it is 620 as told by [redacted].The fact is that SSH would pretty much do anything for a sale and give misleading information just to get you to buy.We have been very patient so far but now it is just getting ridiculous with the situation.I feel as a consumer I should have been told the truth from the beginning and not told one BIG FAT LIE just to get a sale out of an individual.Over promising cheaper rates and a newer vehicle if payments made on time with [redacted] just to get a sale but instead they under delivered when it came time to actually get something done as we said we wanted to.Desired SettlementThe only thing I want is for Southern States Hyundai to live up to what they told us.Getting into a different vehicle with my name off and payments being the same like they said when we purchased initial vehicle.Had I known then what I know now I would not have purchased vehicle to begin with.Business Response The manufacturers finance arm changed their program requirements and the customer does not qualify at this time. As a franchise dealer we must follow the guidelines set forth by the manufacturer and the captive finance company. The customer is free to check back with us in the future for any new changes or qualifications needed as we will do the same if we feel the customer might qualify at a later time.

Vehicle damaged while being serviced. Employees failed to take responsibility and tried to hide damage. Service preformed on 7/22/2016 vehicle was picked up and found to have damage to driver side bumper. Bumper is scratched, and misaligned. No damage on vehicle when it was dropped off for preventive service. Desired SettlementRepair damage Business Response Customer has Returned and we have handled internally

I recently got ripped off my this dealership. The salesperson haven't gotten back to me about the misc charges on the sales contract.I agree with[redacted] that posted on 04/05/15. I purchased the end of March and I regret dealing with this dealership. I had a [redacted] with gap and a lower interest rate. The finance guy was sweating while he was closing my deal and I tried to walk away. I find out two weeks later they didn't add Gap to my new car because they added in a 3100.oo dealer finance fee. They made sure they added their fee and now I have no gap insurance. I contacted the bank and they are blaming the dealership. These people took advantage of me and now I am buried in this car. They also told me about the 6 mths to a year I can trade out of it. I don't think I could ever trust these people. cant believe I made such a bad mistake. I'M thinking about giving the car back to the bank. The GM never returns voicemails nor answers the phone. Desired SettlementI would like a full explanantion why I was lied to about the bank fees and why they weren't identified when we were going over the paperwork. I wanna know where the 3100.00 comes in but I couldn't get gap? I also was told that the car my trade in was just as good as my [redacted] that I traded and that was a lie. I cry everynight and thinking about letting the car go back. I owe 26,000 and the car is worth 19,700 due to those crazy bank fee. I couldn't get anyone to tell me about the outlandish fees then I had to go to another dealer to get a explanation on what was done with my paperwork. I know I made a mistake but the least they can do is allow me to add gap the bank said it is their fault. Business Response First thing is bank fee's are exactly that, fee's that a bank charges for the financing, the money goes to them not to the dealership. Fee's are charged based on how poor your credit is. The other thing is, you also have finance charges that is the cost of borrowing the money and is based on the interest rate, again that is paid to the bank not to the dealership. No one lied to you in anyway and you signed a legal document that discloses everything to you in what is called Truth and Lending. We do hundreds of transaction a month and we do everything we can to make people understand what they are signing. Regarding a voice mail to myself as the GM, I received one and tried to return the call.Consumer Response This isn't a good response. He should have pointed out to me instead of disguising it as a a service agreement. I have sent a referral to the attorney general and meeting with my lawyer next week. These people are scammers. Final Business Response I am sorry, you feel this way, the contract shows everything broken down so I do not understand why there is an issue now.

I purchased a [redacted] on 9/17/2015. I left my [redacted] on the lot because my salesperson said it would be alright. On 10/3/2015 I went to pick up my [redacted] and it was not there. After about a week on 10/10/2015, I went to the dealership, Southern States Hyundai and spoke with [redacted] about where my car was. At that time he said he did not know. I called him later on that night and he wanted the VIN # to track down my [redacted]. On October 12, 2015 I spoke with[redacted], the General Sales Manager and found out that it had been towed by [redacted] on October 1, 2015. I told[redacted] that I could not pay the $545 [redacted] wants and[redacted] said he would speak with [redacted]. I tried to call [redacted] again (already left 3 voicemails with no return calls) and [redacted] texted me that he could not talk right now. After purchasing a brand new vehicle, al I want is my [redacted] back without cost.Desired SettlementI want my [redacted] towed to my place of residence. The salesperson should have contacted me before letting my car get towed. There is no "towing signs" anywhere near where my car was parked. Southern States lacking communication and courtesy to the customer.Business Response I spoke with the customer and explained that we do not store vehicles. The vehicle was left on our property for 2 plus weeks and was towed when we had a threat of flooding when we removed everything from our property. The customer was instructed where to park it so she could pick it up the same night that she purchased a vehicle. The customer is responsible for her vehicle. The vehicle was left on private property and if we had been flooded I am sure she would have expected us to pay for the damages, this is why we remove everything from our property. The customer is responsible for her vehicle and should have removed it or communicated with us with in a day or so of her purchase, not 2 plus weeks later. Consumer Response First of all I was not told I could only leave my car for one night. I purchased the car on 9/17/2015 and did not get out of the office there until 0730. I left[redacted] messages that he did not return and then did not even have the courtesy of calling me so that I could remove my car. I am not liable for my car being towed without even being notified. Final Business Response Per our conversation on October 14th you made comment about if you where aware then you could have made arrangements to get the car, my response was then why did you not make arrangements sooner to get the vehicle over the two weeks prior to the vehicle being removed from the property due to the impending weather that was threatening to flood where the vehicle was located.

Was a prospect for a new car recently and had a fraudulent and unwarranted charge ($500) on my card with no agreement made and no contract signed. My experience with Southern States Hyundai of Raleigh is the Worst CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE that I have personally dealt with in my life. It is actually worse than almost any that I have seen or heard of in my life.I was scammed out of $500 on 1/15/16. That is the simple version of the story. Below is a more detailed version, and NEW CAR BUYERS or people who plan on purchasing and have already owned a car should really pay attention to this;I went in as a prospect twice and worked with an overall nice guy named [redacted] (sales agent) and also briefly worked with the Sales Manager regarding pricing and options for a used car I was interested in. During the process, somewhere along the way, there was a Huge mix-up and something that I believe is extremely disrespectful, deceitful and absolutely poor business practice. How it happened;[redacted] - "Now I just need your credit card or debit card to make a copy and put a hold on your account so we can get the car for you to see it''Me - "I want to make sure that $0.0 is coming off of this card because I am still considering my options. I like your pricing and I am interested in buying a car from you but Only after I have seen the car and test drive it. I also want to get the financing correct and I will need to shop around for that.''[redacted] - ''It won't take any money off your card, it's just a hold''[redacted] returns with a receipt for the amount of $500 - I must note that at this point, and still to this day, I have NOT signed or made any agreements (written or verbal) that I plan to purchase a car from Southern States Hyundai. Me - ''Why does that receipt say $500? You said it was just a hold on my card, right? And that means no money is coming out?''[redacted] - ''Hold on, let me check and make sure that it's a hold.'' He returned a couple minutes later to tell me it's ''just a hold'' and that no charges have/will be made until I see the car and decide I want to buy it.*I had to press for the actual answer to my question multiple times before getting a real answer, and this was the same for 90% of the questions I asked. My father was listening in on the call at this point, so I made sure to talk clearly and explicitly state the following;Me - ''I want to make sure that this isn't going to charge me unless I purchase a car through you. I like the numbers you've given me and I want to see the car, but you (speaking to [redacted]) are saying that I won't pay anything until I've decided. Is that correct?'' [redacted] - ''Yes. That is correct. It's just a hold on your card (that I didn't authorize him to charge in the first place) and we will get the car in tomorrow or the next day to see it.''Per my fathers advice, I went ahead and signed the merchant copy of the receipt because my father said ''I'm sure it will all work out and if it doesn't then I'll intervene.''I left, thinking it was just a 'hold' and no money actually came out of my account, to find out that my account had been charged $500 from Southern States Hyundai. I was calm and I assumed I could just handle it with my bank if I didn't decide to buy with Southern States. Today, with my bank on the phone, we conference called Southern States and spoke with both [redacted] and [redacted] (Sales Manager) requesting the charge be removed (since no goods or services were delivered and there was no paperwork signed for anything.) Southern States responded by saying they would Not remove the charge and [redacted] stated that it was ''over his head''. He simply could not remove the charge because, and he stated ''You agreed to buy the car''. However, I have not made any verbal or written/signed agreement to purchase anything through Southern States Hyundai. At this moment, all I am asking is for the fraudulent $500 charge put back in my account and they are saying they won't do it. No contract, no agreement and no service = No Money from me. Fraudulent business.Desired SettlementSeeking the fraudulent charge of $500 refunded directly to my account or in a check/money order. Since you know how to run credit cards without prior authorization then I am confident you can produce a refund. I have already submitted a dispute with my bank and if I have to then I will continue on that route. I wanted first to give your business a chance for redemption and to save face by issuing a refund and because fraud is breaking the law I would like you to know that it could go to the authorities.Business Response We at Southern States take statements like this very seriously. Mr. [redacted] stated that this was a fraudulent charge, but the Credit Card slip is signed by him, we have a copy of his NC License, we have a copy of his Insurance card and a signed credit app. He was at no point told that we just put a hold on it, he also stated that he did not make any verbal or written/signed agreement to purchase. If this was the case then why would I have a credit application and everything else? I have since spoken to Mr. [redacted] and he know realizes everything.Consumer Response
