On Friday afternoon, 4/25/14, I went to Southern Textile, Inc to purchase carpet for a vehicle. The young man working there took my order and then asked for payment. It was the third time that I had been there and the information as far as the price or cost of the carpet per yard was different and I asked for an explanation of how that price was different. He attempted to explain but I questioned it again, he became upset/angry and his voice became loud as if he was yelling at me. I told him that I was merely asking a question and he did not have to raise his voice or yell at me. There was a comment as to him trying to explain it but I was not understanding. Again I asked him to not raise his voice at me. He then said that if I did not like how he talked or what he said then I can go buy what I wanted at some other place. I asked for the supervisor, (Mrs) [redacted] came to the desk and I explained the problem and also stated that it was my third visit and did not like his attitude or behavior and did not have that problem with her or the other lady during my first two/previous visits. I paid and left but the customer service was terrible.Product_Or_Service: Vehicle CarpetOrder_Number: Invoice XXXXXXAccount_Number: InvoiceXXXXXX/SalesDesired SettlementI looked for and found this company in the yellow pages after finding out that the other company I was using had closed and there are basically one or no other company in the city that provides these products. Customer service in this instance was absolutely terrible/negative and very little if anything was done or said when reported. An apology is requested but even with that I do not plan to spend my money in a place that does not appreciate nor seem to want my business. Business Response We are sorry that the customer did not understand the price of the material. We have been wholesale to the upholstery business since 1946! When Mr. [redacted] was quoted the retail price less 30% because there wasn't a business license produced at time of sale, he was charged retail pricing. We help offset the cost to the general public by giving a 30% discount. He was told 3 times that the amount quoted was the same as before. On his previous orders he might had been quoted net retail pricing where the discount is already factored in. We are not sure since no invoice was produced. This is where some confusion could have arisen. After the representative had explained 3 times to Mr. [redacted] it was the same Mr. [redacted] felt that we were overcharging him because he looked at the retail price and never took into consideration the discount listed below. We have checked our records and were unable to find where Mr. [redacted] had bought from us in the past nor was an invoice produced at his time of visit. In our company we strive to give the best customer service we can and to our knowledge we haven't heard of a complaint against us ever. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Contents of response not accepted but anticipated and expected. I have taken measures to resolve the issues in that I have informed the club that I a member of with the problems experienced and we have found and have been using a company online to order the same material. When compared, I find the quality to to be better(twice the thickness) and material with shipping is comparable to the cost from the company that said I did not understand. With proper planning we have not found the wait to be a problem and in less than a month have made several large purchases. I am content with the ordering of material on line and the conversations/questions about pricing and quality of material have been very pleasant. Also, sales and discounts have been made available with the quantity of material ordered. My complaint came after my third visit/purchase and did not have anything to do with a lack of understanding of prices but that of a negative attitude and behavior. It seems as if there were assumptions made about me having a lack of understanding of prices or my inability to know the number of times that I visited their place of business or judge me based on certain beliefs, perceptions and questioning my integrity. Please consider this closed. Thanks.
