I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below
There is no truth to the business' response to our complaintThe contract called for 50% deposit up front and the balance was due upon completionOur copy of the contract is provided along with the copy provided by the business (with paint color numbers written on it)The business ordered and received all paints in gloss rather than the satin finish we orderedWhen they discovered their mistake, they tried to tell us that gloss is the same as satinWe found out that was not trueWe sent an email giving a chronology of events and saying that we don't want to get caught up in someone else's mistakeSince our copy of the contract did not have the paint color numbers on it, we asked to meet to be sure that the colors were exactly what we wanted so that there are no more mistakes or delaysWe were already beyond the time frame for completion of the jobThe principal of the business became enraged after receiving the email and said in a phone call that we were setting him up to cheat him out of the balance of the moneyHe demanded that we pay the balance due before he steps foot on the propertyIn the spirit of compromise, we offered one-half of that amount but he refused and said that he would throw paint and stain and whatever else he has laying around and throw it on our house!
We went to the police to file a report regarding the threat and then sent a letter to the business telling him that he was in breach of the contract
This had nothing to do with paint colorsThe business ordered, paid for and received gloss paint (not the satin finish we wanted)We confirmed this with the Sherwin Williams store in Bath, NY
We subsequently had to hire another painter to finish caulking, patching, painting and reinstall our storm windows at great expense to usThe colors that were used are the same colors we had selected from the beginning (Amazing Gray, Dover White, Cordial, Watery and Halcyon Green)
We believe the copies of the contract, the email and the letter which was sent by certified mail and regular mail clearly set forth the chronology of events that took place

Revdex.com spoke with owner who explained that the consumer had chosen the paint colors, and $worth of paint had been purchased by the companyAfter a period of days the consumer changed her mind and wanted different colorsThe owner explained that this would be fine but that the consumer would need
to pay for the extra paintThe owner was told that his workers were not allowed on the property, and he also explained that the consumer had broken the contract by her own actions
