Bait and switch, odometer reading wrong, Forgery of signatures Forgery of signatures. An Experience to Forget Car Buying with Southern Volkswagen [redacted] August 25, 2018: The Visit: I visit Southern Volkswagen Greenbrier in Chesapeake, Virginia to purchase my first car entirely on my own merit and financial status, never expecting that such a monumental purchase would be over shadowed by untruths (in my opinion), stress, unprofessionalism, and severe lack of customer service and care, both by the dealership and Volkswagen America The Bait and Switch: After two hours, and a test drive they offered me in a car that I fell in love with, much to my dismay we were unable to come to a purchase agreement that was mutually beneficial I thanked Lou, Mike and everyone else for their time and told them I appreciated their help but was going to leave Once on the road to visit another dealer, Mike called me and continued to make offers in hopes that I would return After

I was shown the elevated monthly lease payment of $464-a month with $down payment for a Jetta GLI SELThis price is way too high for that vehicle; however I was not aware of thatThen Reggie said I didn't have to pay the down payment of $if the monthly payment stayed at $After that he said he could pay off my lease $and give me another $1000, with the monthly payment staying at $This sounded like a great dealAfter the deal was done and the contract was signed, the next day I built the same car on the Volkswagen website and noticed the price on the website was way lower then what I paidI talked to Jason, one of the managers the next day, and he told me that the money moved from column A to column BColumn A being the discount and money up front that was given to me ($down payment that I didn't have to pay, the $to pay off my lease and the $1000), column B being my monthly paymentsJason also said that this was practice for this dealershipI told him that Reggie did not explain this to meI was very unhappy and upset at this point however our conversation stayed professional and we agreed to disagreeI asked to speak with the next higher up and was told he was on vacation until the next weekThe next day I came in to pick up my check that Reggie said would be ready, my check was not ready and Reggie informed me that there was another manager that I could talk to, DavidI explained the whole story to David and he wanted to know what he could do to smooth this situation over and make me happyHe also stated that showing an elevated price to begin to a customer was not a standard practice and he said this in front JasonI said that I didn't think there was anything that could be done and I just wanted to give them the car back because I didn't think they deserved my businessDavid informed me that he would be willing to give me an extra $but I could not give the car back because the contract has already been signed I said that I would accept it but that the $would not solve this issue After I spoke with the two managers and then told Reggie that Jason told me that they moved the money from column A to column B, Reggie said that Jason should not have told me that because it wasn't good for the companyReggie said he would talk to David because he felt like I was done wrong and he would call meWell, he didn't call me back about thatThe next week I spoke with David and he said he spoke with the vice president and they both agreed to give me an extra $ So this is the trick that was used to get me to buy the carI was shown an elevated price to start off with and then given discounts afterward to make it seem like it was a great deal, however instead of giving me the discounts up front they just rolled the money I was given up front into my monthly payments When I dropped my car of for the windows to get tinted I was not informed that I would be renting a car from hertzThe process of getting picked up and going there to rent a car took ½ hours and dropping the car off at hertz and getting a ride back took hoursSo ½ hours of my time to drop my car off for hoursIf I would have known it takes that long I would have made other plansThe hertz guy that picked me up also said that everyone he picked up didn't know that they were renting a car from hertzThey thought they were renting a car from the dealership because this is what a lot of dealerships do and it is way more convenient for the customerHertz only had vehicles to choose fromI'm currently leasing a car from BMW checkered flag and when I drop my car off there for something they haI still have not received my check for the money up front, Reggie has told me multiple times that my check would be ready and to come pick it up, the first time being the day after I purchased the car August 1st and the fifth time (not exaggerating) he said the check was ready and to come pick it up, about an hour later he called me and said that it was mailed to me, this was Tuesday August 16thMonday August 23rd and still no check, I called Reggie and this time he said that the check was mailed Thursday the 18thI've talked to Reggie so many times about this check I can't even remember all of our conversations about itHe keeps telling me that I should have it or I'll have it the next dayWednesday August 24th comes and still no checkReggie said that he would talk to the vice president and call me back, at o'clock at night Reggie called and said that the vice president would be calling me in the next few minutes, he did not callHe called me the next day and when I got home a found my check in my mailbox, pretty sure it does not take business days to send a letter from Chesapeake to Virginia BeachHowever the check was $short, I informed Reggie of this and acted like he had no idea what I was talking about, I'm still waiting on my $
