Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 10, 2016/06/27) */ JUN XX XXXXX June 20, To Whom it may concern, This is my response letter regarding the complaint filed by Mr [redacted] on June 13, Mr [redacted] came into my shop with multiple complaints regarding the four wheel drive not working properly on his EnvoyFirst complaint: the four wheel drive light was on in the dashSecond complaint: The four wheel drive would not engageThird complaint: the front end makes noise when driving Mr [redacted] told me that all he was concerned about was the light that was on in the dash and that the four wheel drive would not engageHe stated he was not conerned about the noise in the front end at this timeHe stated that he had been adding fluid to the front differential for years On X-invoice # [redacted] we installed a new electronic transfer case motor and reprogrammed the 4xsystemAfter this repair, the light in the dash was off and the four wheel drive would engageThe front end noise was still presentI advised him of this and he again stated he did not want that fixed On April 25, he returned to my shop stating he wanted the axles in the front differential replaced, and if I was sure that would make the noise go awayI advised him I could not be sure until we had it apart to inspect the front differential that the axles go intoHe agreed for us to disassemble it, inspect the parts and give him a quote Upon removal of the half-shafts, we found they were so badly worn from lack of fluid that the axle shafts and the front differential would have to be repairedI called Mr [redacted] and he came into the shop and I showed him what was wrongI told him it would be XXX-XXXXI base my estimates with the nationally recognized parts and labor guide- [redacted] He then agreed to have the repairs doneI do have video footage of Mr [redacted] being shown by me and my mechanic the damaged parts We had problems finding the correct axle shaft seals, that is why the repairs took longer than expected, and Mr [redacted] was notified of this problemMr [redacted] did try on his own to find the parts, but the ones he had found were wrongI also have video footage of him bringing in the parts he had found We had to keep Mr [redacted] ' truck over the weekend because we were waiting to get the partsMr [redacted] had left messages complaining about the amount of time it was taking to get his truck doneThe messages he left stated he was a member of the NAACP and I was under investigation for racism, racial profiling, and price gouging and any other codes and violations that he and the president of the NAACP could findHe also left a message stating he was a civil rights activist, and I was "what was wrong with America." He also stated he was "watching me from afar" and that I need to be careful with who I am dealing with When Mr [redacted] picked up his truck we went for a test drive and he was happy with the repairsI apologized for the length of time it took and that I would discount the repairs to [redacted] He shook my hand and thanked me and left Mr [redacted] came back to my shop a week later stating that his four wheel drive was acting upAfter receiving the messages from Mr [redacted] from the previous repair work I had done for him, I did contact my lawyer, (because I felt threatened), and was advised to call the police if I felt threatened again so that is what I did I feel as though I have tried to work with Mr [redacted] fairly on discounting the repair work I did on his truckI prefer NOT to do anymore business with Mr [redacted] because of the accusations of racism, racial profiling, price gouging, and all the other threats made to me and my employees Thank You, -1.(7.-1-4e; [redacted] Owner of Southgate Automotive LLC

Mr. [redacted] came into my shop with multiple complaints regarding the four wheel drive not working...

properly on his 2002 Envoy. First complaint: the four wheel drive light was on in the dash. Second complaint: The four wheel drive would not engage. Third complaint: the front end makes noise when driving.
Mr. [redacted] told me that all he was concerned about was the light that was on in the dash and that the four wheel drive would not engage. He stated he was not conerned about the noise in the front end at this time. He stated that he had been adding fluid to the front differential for 3 years.
On X-XX-XX invoice # [redacted] we installed a new electronic transfer case motor and reprogrammed the 4x4 system. After this repair, the light in the dash was off and the four wheel drive would engage. The front end noise was still present. I advised him of this and he again stated he did not want that fixed.
