[redacted]

Review: I contacted the company over the phone and spoke with [redacted] to see if they had a stackable washer/dryer. They did. It was refurbished. I went ahead and paid with card over the phone. The following week I had my renter ([redacted] and her 15 yr old son) pick it up as I was in ** at the time. [redacted] told them to pull up to docking area where they (employees) loaded the unit and strapped it in with their rope. On the travel back to new kent (25 min.) the unit fell over onto the tail gait. They pulled off the road, lifted back up and re-strapped. When they arrived home, [redacted] called [redacted]. He stated it was not their fault and hung up on her. She then called me. I called [redacted] and he told me it was her fault and she should not have been driving so fast. He then hung up on me. [redacted] sent me photos of the damage to the unit. There is clear damage to the unit as well as damage to the tail gait. I just want [redacted] to take the unit back and give me a full refund.Desired Settlement: Would like Southside Cares to take washer/dryer back and give me a full refund.

Re: ID [redacted]

To Whom It May Concern;

On the day in question, a young lady ([redacted]) and a young man (son) came into the store to

pick-up the stackable. [redacted] (not [redacted]) asked them to go around to the side to have the

stackable loaded. With [redacted] permission, the stackable was loaded and placed where she

wanted it. She was informed that the stackable would be more secure if she moved some of the

items that were on the truck and had the stackable pushed all the way back. She said it would be

fine. Rope was then given to the young man to secure the item.

The store offers delivery services, but to save the cost it was turned down. The establishment

will assist with the loading of the item, but if not being delivered and the customer decides to

pick it up, rope (if needed) will be supplied to them so they can secure the item.

The establishment has a no refund, no exchange policy. We are truly sorry for the customers

loss, but the store is not responsible.

Thank you,

It is very clear that [redacted] is providing false information. As I was not there when the appliance was picked up it could easily be a he said she said. However I know this is not the case because when I spoke with [redacted] on the phone that same day I clearly stated it was his fault because his store loaded and tied down the appliance. He never once refuted this claim, stating there was nothing wrong with the tie down, and instead stated that fault lied with [redacted] driving not that the fault was due to [redacted] son's poor tying ability. I believe [redacted] sees that the fault lies with him so his only course of action is to lie about the circumstances. I had a repairman look at the washer/dryer and it is clearly not able to function. There is also damage to the bed of the truck. I would hope [redacted] would see that it is in his and the stores best interest to simply refund my money and take back the unit as opposed to a lawsuit for the cost of the washer/dryer, the repairman as well as damage to the truck.

Review: I purchased a washing machine with a 30 day warranty on August 25th 2015. It hasn't even been 2 months but right after the 30 day warranty my washer breaks down. I have dealt with places like this before that does the minimum refurbishing appliances in hopes that it doesn't break down until after the 30 day warranty. That is the reason they give 30 day warranties on the big appliances. They know that the items are not in the condition that they make them seem. Most appliances come with a one-year warranty. I thought I could trust their center because they have the word Christian included as a non-profit church place of business. They are over charging for their items. I called yesterday and they said that the technician was going to come out to fix the problem and call me to schedule a time. Now I call this morning and the person with whom I spoke is now saying there is a $89.00 service fee for the technician to come out. I do not think that it is fair and I want my money back or a replacement washer. I really want my money back to go somewhere else because they may give me another broken one. Then they have these beds in the back that are what looks to be bed bug infested. They take advantage of people with that 30-day warranty and those who don't come into their stores with attitude about their items. I have seen more than once when in the store how they have something priced above what it is worth to see if someone buys it for that price but then if the man in a couple will say something like man this ain't worth 200 I can give you 125 or 100 then they will accept. They overcharge for things when dealing with whoever they can get over on. I was one of those people and am making a complaint. I do not think this is fair and will not stop until this is resolved.Desired Settlement: Refund my money so that I can go somewhere else to purchase a new washer with a real warranty. The only reason I trusted them is because they are supposed to be a Christian place of business.
