Review: I was in the market for a fence and solicited bids from different companies. I decided to purchase a fence manufactured by Interstate (http://[redacted]) based on independent research and from speaking with a sales representative from [redacted]. When [redacted] from Southside Fence met with me, he informed me that he is authorized to sell Interstate Fences. His quote came in cheaper than [redacted] and considering that the underlying fence was the same, I decided on Southside Fence. During the sales process I discussed my future plans to get a pool. [redacted] suggested a child safety lock. Going on his recommendation, I said ok. Issue 1 We ordered a 6 foot fence and the child safety lock was installed. However, the sales representative, [redacted], never explained that the child safety lock is installed on one side of the fence and to open the fence, the individual has to reach over the fence to open. My wife is 5 feet and cannot open the gate from the other side. I also have trouble as did others who have been in our backyard. Issue 2 As noted above, we specifically wanted interstate due to the design. The gate that was installed was not an actual interstate gate. It was a piece of the fence that Southside cut to function as a gate. Resolution I had many phone calls and email exchanges with [redacted], the owner. He was incredibly rude and hung up on me and called me an " [redacted] over email. I had to have another company come and replace the gate and posts with an actual interstate gate.Desired Settlement: I am paying $585 out of pocket to have another company fix the issue since Southside refused to fix the problem.
