We received a message from ATM Processing...

Systems regarding Mr. [redacted] and not getting his monies.  I called him and he told me he tried to withdrawal $200.00 from the machine and it did not give to him, but charged his account for it.  I told him that I was sorry that this had happened and that he needed to call the number on the back of his bank card and report it.  The company that handles the banking part of it would send us a report and we would check the machine and if in fact this happened he would be credited back. He seemed ok with everything, said thank you for returning his message and we hung up. In the ATM industry this does happen from time to time. The network these machines call out on are extremely reliable but sometimes communication lines can drop out and the transaction fails.  We as operators of the machines can’t just take the peoples word for it and go give them the amount they said they didn’t get. THIS IS THE NUMBER 1 SCAM IN THE INDUSTRY!!  If we were to give the monies to any person, they can still file a claim showing the machine malfunctioned and then get the money twice. That is how the scam works.  This has happened before and we have to let the banking and processing institutions handle it. After the proper steps are taken then the person is refunded their money. We have no control over how long the process takes.  Some banks may be quicker than others, we have no idea how each bank handles something like this.  But all parties involved want to make sure that it is legit and the person is really due the monies in question. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused Mr. [redacted], it is not our intention to steal monies or ignore him in any way, this matter, as all matters like this, are taken care of as quickly as possible. Southwest ATMS is not disputing this claim, and the refund should be currently in process. You can send us a reply at [redacted].
Sincerely,
