Re: Revdex.com Complaint #: [redacted] To whomit may concern, In response to the above reference complaint number, please note that on February4, 2015, after speaking with our Insured, we contacted the Independent Adjusterwe assigned to this loss TheIndependent Adjuster verified that, unbeknownst to us, they had receivedpaperwork from our Insured, which they did not process timely Since that time, we have received the supplementalpaperwork and payment requests from the Independent Adjuster and we have issuedpayments for the outstanding amounts owed to the insuredAt this time, we are working with our Independent Adjuster to make sure this does nothappen again and we sincerely apologize to our Insured for any inconveniencethat the delay may have caused herSincerely, VermontMutual Claims Department

Ms*** reported her loss toVermont Mutual on December 3, 2014, and by December 8, her vehicle wasappraised and determined to be a total loss. The actual cash value of hervehicle, $14,550.00, was conveyed to her on December 9, 2014, and she was alsoinformed on that date that her
$deductible would apply. Ms***had a loan on her vehicle and the amount due on the loan exceeded the amount ofthe total loss settlement, a situation that requires that we secure a letter ofguarantee from the lienholder, confirming the lienholder will release the titleto Vermont Mutual for $14,050.00. This was requested on December 10,2014, and was received from the lienholder on December 29, 2014. The lienholderinitially sent a letter of guarantee with an incorrect amount, and afterinquiry from our office, the correct letter of guarantee was received onDecember 30, 2014. We inadvertently did not issue the check to thelienholder until January 14, 2015. We apologize for this oversight, andwe will contact the lienholder to determine if any additional interest accruedon Ms***’s account during this period, and if so, we will pay that amountto the lienholder

attempt at full cooperationI timely obtained all quotes that were requested of me from Vermont Mutual however, the quotes were rejected as Vermont Mutual believed the work could be done at a lesser price disregarding updated building codes per the city of ***Outstanding issues include:
building and cabinet differentials, electrical and plumbing code work, and fire rated kitchen doors.Vermont Mutual denies the complainants allegations that is was incompetent, lacked professionalism, and intentionally delayed the claim.Regrettably not all things are covered under an insurance policyOn 6-17-the insured's property was damaged when a toilet overflowedon the 3rd floor of this family rental propertyWe have made substantial payments to the insured on the building and for the loss of rental income. We were unable to pay for deteriorated plumbing and electrical found during the repair process as they were not damaged as a result of a covered perilWe were also unable to pay for the upgrades electively made to home. We have made several attempts to explain these issues to the insured, who is represented by a Public Adjuster. We regret that the policyholder is not able to understand the explanation, but as explained to the insured, we believe that the payments made more than meet theagreements afforded in the insurance policy contract

This was a disputed liability claim where there was a question as to whether or not Ms. [redacted] was no morethan 50% at fault, which is the threshold that needs to be met in order forVermont Mutual to reimburse her the $1,000.00 deductible.  There were twoother insurance companies involved in...

this claim.  They were both takingthe position that Ms. [redacted] was the responsible party, and both were seekingreimbursement for amounts paid under their respective policies from VermontMutual.  Rather than pay these claims outright we conducted furtherinvestigation to support Ms. [redacted], and we have now been able to secure an agreementwith the other carriers involved that Ms. [redacted]’s liability is limited to50%.  This agreement allows us to reimburse Ms. [redacted] her deductible,which has been done.  The alternative would be to allow this claim to beresolved at Inter-company Arbitration, which is a less predictable forum andcould have resulted in a decision that would have prohibited us fromreimbursing the deductible.

[I am waiting for the reimbursement specified in the statement before accepting because as of today 1/6/15, I have not received any reimbursement nor was I notified in any way letting me know I was going to be reimbursed prior to this report.]
