I have a balance with Southwest Ms Regional Medical Center I have had a payment arrangement with them for well over a year and have never missed a payment In fact, I am a couple of months ahead They have farmed out their billing department to at LEAST (three) companies One company is handling my account as it has in the past year, however the other companies are not aware of each other and now tell me I have NEVER paid on the account and are pushing for collection Approximately (eight) weeks ago *** (one of the billing companies) called my MOTHER telling her my account was past due and demanding payment I contacted Southwest Reg Med Center and spoke with the admasstwho told me she would look into the issue and get back to me She never did return my call Last week I received a call from *** again attempting to collect the debt On 01/23/I received a bill threatening collection if not paid from yet another company I also, on the same day, the 23rd, rec

I have just hung up from personally speaking with Mr***, and explained to him that his account should have never gone to an outsourced "Early Out Vendor" contracted by SMRMC. I am doing everything I can, including asking him to change where his payments go to, to make sure his account does
not go out to our contracted vendor. I got the impression Mr*** was satisfied with my efforts. However, Mr*** has instructed us to speak with our attorney, because we will not write off his balance. The reason he believes his balance should be written off, is that a contracted vendor called his mother's phone number regarding his balance, and Mr*** says his mother now believes he is not paying his bills. I reviewed the information in Mr***'s account and nowhere does it show his mother's telephone number. Mr*** says the contracted vendor got her phone number from pulling a credit report. I told him I did not think this was the right thing to do, and would address it with the personnel handling the contracted vendor. Mr*** has been faithful in making a payment of $per month on his account, which will take years to pay off the balance. I was told to have Mr*** increase his monthly payments, however, as I told Mr***, I was not going to do that because of his limited income. SMRMC has been very patient with Mr***'s payment, and understand that it is due to his limited income. We are sorry his account went to a contracted vendor, and have apologized. Mr*** did tell me to turn his account over to a Collection Agency and let it go to court and we would never get our money. I told him we were not going to do that as long as he continued to make monthly payments.
