Southwest Standard Transmission Reviews (1)

On June 17th, 2015, I was driving towards Payson, AZ , when I had a breakdown on the highwayI called Emergency Roadside Service, and got towed into PaysonBecause I felt the issue had something to do with the transmission, I was referred to the only Transmission shop in town -- Southwest Transmissions & Automotive, with *** *** as the managerI was welcomed, told to have the tow truck off load my vehicle in the parking lot, and they would pull it in in the morning, do a diagnostic, and let me know what the issue might be and when they could repair itAfter it was parked, I put a sunscreen protector in the windshield, locked the doors, and left for the nightI noticed as I left that a piece of paper had gotten stuck between the sun protector and the windshieldI was told to call around 9:or 10:00am I did, but the lady who answered did not know anything, and *** had stepped outSo, I borrowed another car, and drove in from the campground where we were staying, some 20+ miles awayWhen I arrived at the Transmission Shop at 11:00am, I was dismayed to see the van still parked in the same place, and I noticed that the sun protector was still up and the same piece of paper still lodged between it and the windshieldSo, I walked into the garage area*** was working in the entrance and had an employee with himI said, "So ***, what's up with the van!?" I expected an apology, and a promise of some sort to get it in as soon as possibleHowever, what I got was lies and a fraudulent claim*** said, "Well, like I said, your transmission is shotWe will have to pull it out and send it to my other shopI will do my best to get it to you by next Tuesday, but no promises." The bill was going to be $2,to $2,I was toldI was shocked, but gave him the benefit of the doubt"You pulled the van in and checked it?" He said he had"You dropped the transmission pan and checked for metal filings?" He said yup, it has metal in there alright! So, I said well, just wait a momentI walked out to the parking lot looked at the van again, and was sure it had not been moved or touchedThey would never have parked it exactly the same way, with the sun protector up, and with the paper stuck there in the same place! But, to be sure, I crawled under it, and looked at the nuts and bolts on the transmission panThey were still caked on road dirt, oil etc, and had never had a wrench on them in years*** *** had just lied, all with the goal of scamming me out of $2,without having even checked the vehicleI went back to themI asked him, "***, are you sure you had that van in here, and that you checked the pan?" He began to look at his employees, and asked, if they had taken the pan offOne stammered for a while, and said noAnother shouted from the back, noSo I confronted him, and said, "*** you liedWhat you just did was unethicalYou even said you saw the filings so you have lied all the way through this." He immediately offered to bring it in and check, but I just demanded the keys, and called another tow truckSouthwest Transmissions is not a trustworthy shop to use for ANY repair, as the manager or owner, *** ***, is basically out to scam his clients
