This individual called our shop and asked about getting  a quote to have a sign 3D printed. I told her it was very difficult to provide a quote for 3D printing based on a description. She agreed to send me an email with an image of what she was looking fo1 she did that. She then called back to...

ask about a quote. I told her again that we would  have to have a 3D drawing of her item in order to give her an accurate price. She then asked how she could get a 3D drawing, told her we had engineers that could create the drawing. After talking with her for quite some time, I told that if she had a drawing done and her design was not larger than 9 inches long (the size of our small machines) that we could do this for approximately $200 dollars. I asked her to come to the shop so we could show her in person the process and discuss colors and etc. She did come in to our shop a few days later: When she arrived and started talking to one of our employees she got very excited. She then asked us to look at making her design larger and use more ex'Pensive material , additionally she added more text to the design. We told her we would discuss her ideas with our engineer, gel a price for the design and then we could give her an accurate quote for the printing, she agreed to this process. A day or so later we were still talking back and forth via email. We then sent her an email explaining to her that with everything she requested her product was going lobe about $450.00, we did not hear back from her until we received your letter. You have a copy of all the email communications (they were in the letter you sent me) that collaborate  our side of the story. We are sorry this went the way that it did for her. If she stuck with the existing size and design we could do the job for the $200.00 estimate.

Review: This company agreed to do work for me for $200.00 that was on Friday, I agree to this amount, now I get an e-mail saying it will cost me $450.00,here are some copies of the mail. This includes the sign with your logo and a sign with the words on the second page of your document. Unfortunately, after getting a rough sketch from our designer to test the fonts desired, we have found that the price will be significantly different then originally discussed. For the size and accuracy needed, we would have to use the large machine. The cost and material is very different and it could not be black and white, just white. Although, it could be painted to look exactly how you wanted. Also for this size of a sign, they would run about $450 a piece with the current sketch. We did not want to blindside you with this information so we did not continue with the drawings yet. If you are still interested please feel free to come in a fill out the necessary paperwork and we can get you your designs and begin the printing process.
