I scheduled 3 driving lessons with SP Driving Academy. The second lesson was scheduled for Saturday, August 24, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. When I arrived that day, that location was closed and no instructors were present. I called the main number for the school at approximately 10:30 a.m. and spoke with someone at their headquarters. After doing some research, it was determined that the person who scheduled my lesson did not relay the information to the instructors which is why no one was there. Initially, the office said an instructor would be available at 11:00 a.m. which meant I would be able to have one of the two hours for which I was scheduled at that time. I agreed to stay for a lesson starting at 11, with a refund for the hour that would be missed due to their error, but when they transferred my call to that instructor, he said the information shared with me was not correct. He said the school had booked him with a different student during my scheduled time slot and he would not be available until noon at the earliest (after my scheduled time slot). I told the instructor that, although I was at the school and available for the entirety of the scheduled time, I was not available after the time slot. He apologized for the school’s error and said he would make sure I received a refund as the error was theirs. I followed up with another employee later that week and I was told that the mix-up was due to computer issues the office had been experiencing prior to the day of my appointment. They said the manager was aware of the computer issues and the fact that they were at fault for an instructor never being assigned for that day’s lesson.
Despite being promised a refund, SP is now refusing to provide one, wanting me to reschedule instead. I have lost all trust in them as ethical businesspeople and will not be rescheduling.
Hi ***,SP Driving Academy Statement of the problemCustomer scheduled for 6 Hours of Mentorship with our School. The sessions were spread out into 3. She had the first one on the 17th of August from 10am to 12noon.At the time of the second session, we had a little bit of mix up with the schedule but the instructor called her and fixed her for same day with a different time slot which she said she couldn’t take. We offered her another time slot for another day she still refused to take it. After that she showed up for her last session which was scheduled for August 28th and we still gave her further offers and she refused and insisted she wants a refund back for the middle/ second session.The service we offered to her was way unprofitable (6hours is $360) as the branch is a new one and we needed some form of customer awareness and offered at a lost at ($260). We really don't issue refund for Behind the Wheel sessions except sessions scheduled under Driver's Education Program.We tried to correct it then and there. We apologized, instructor also apologized during her last session and she still refused.We have a standard policy and refund procedure and turnaround time; the refund we can offer will be $60. Her completed 4 hours was at $200. Hence, we made a decision to refund back $60. WE will be willing to refund the $60 as soon as she accepts it.Thanks!Zee BBusiness Director
