S&P Salon Reviews (2)

Review: I had been going to this salon since the beginning of January 2013. For my first visit I got an entirely new set of nails. The Asian lady that did my nails sat at the table to the right in the back row. The tips were never a good match with my natural nail. The gaps and poor fit led to water getting in between the nail and tip. Nonetheless, I did go back.On my second visit, an Asian man that sits to the middle left did my nails. He wears glasses and claims to be the manager. I asked some questions about the salon and he proceeded to tell me that what made their salon different was that they were paid via a salary versus tip only. He was very distracted the entire time. He kept getting up and answering the phone and seemed overly concerned about which customers were sitting at a particular table for nail services. He tried telling me over and over that I needed to be getting gel. Everyone was doing gel nails and that I needed to be doing it as well. When I said I didn't want gel he got really nasty and had an attitude with me. Nonetheless I did go back.On my third visit, The same Asian gentleman told me that my set of nails was old and that I needed to completely replace the set. I proceeded to tell him that his colleague just gave me a new set of nails in January. My set was only 1 and 1/2 months old. He then proceeded to say, "Don't worry, I take care of you." When I went to pay, I was charged for various nail repairs per finger. Nonetheless, I did go back due to my hectic schedule and inability to research new salons. My most recent visit was March 16, 2013. I stopped in and was told to come back at 4:30. I arrived at 4:30 to have my nails done and the Asian man, I believe his name is [redacted], told me to sit at his table. I sat at his table from 4:30-5:00. I finally asked another associate what had happened to him. She went to the back. As she opened the door to the back, I saw him sitting with his feet propped up eating while I waited for him at his table for 30 minutes. I had a 4:30 appointment!I let the gentleman know how disappointed I was with waiting. He then proceed to take all of the polish off of my nails and then refused to do my nails. I told him he was a disgrace. He then turned to another red headed female associate and the two of them started mocking me to my face. I stood up and said, "I am reporting this salon!" He then tried threatening me that he was going to call mall security. I walked right down to mall security and am in the process of getting the mall manager involved.Desired Settlement: This salon owes me 100.00 dollars in cash which is the cost of a balance and my time in having to find another salon to clean up their mess. This man deliberately took all of the polish off of my nails making them look terrible and then refused to do my nails. He was mocking me to another associate in front of my face and kept me waiting 30 minutes beyond my appointment time while he lounged in the back. This type of service is deplorable.

Review: I received a gift card for this salon at Christmas time. On Friday 2/15 I went to S&P salon to have a manicure, pedicure, facial, and an eyebrow waxing done. I went out of town later that night, to Cleveland. I noticed that later that night I began to get really itchy, thinking really nothing of it. However the next morning I woke up to a swollen face, hands, feet. My face was so swollen I could barley open my eyes up. My feet were so swollen it hurt to walk, and my hands pretty much doubled in size. I also had hives all over my body. I started taking [redacted] that morning and through out the day. On Sunday it was just as bad if not worse, I went to an urgent care facility located in Avon, OH. I was prescribed steroids and a high dose of [redacted]. When I got back to Columbus, I went to the salon to try and get a refund because of the reaction I had gotten. The manger however told me that I was probably allergic to either latex gloves or the [redacted] brand laundry detergent, I'm only allergic to nickle and have used both of those products before. I asked for a refund and she gave me a gift card to use. I will never use this gift card cause I don't want to break out again. I also asked about my medical bill that I will have to pay as well, she showed no sympathy about my situation and would not offer to help with the medical bill. I feel like I had gotten the reaction due to a fungal infection, not allergic., which really grosses me out.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the money and I would also like the salon to help pay for my urgent care bill. I would not have had to go to the urgent care if their facility was cleaned properly.
