Spa Ahava Reviews (1)

Got a manicure - it was not professional, chipping around cuticles, polish not uniform, nails not evenly filed, too much polish on nails. Called to complain. Woman who I spoke to asked me if I had damaged them over night - she asked if I had chewed them or smudged them on my jacket. Neither happened. She suggested that I make another appointment right then. I didn't have my calendar and I was on my way to another appointment. She said I could call her back but it had to be the same day (which was yesterday, February 27). I was out with my dogs and had a serious accident where I could not breathe or move or talk and I had to go to the doctor. By the time I got home the day was over. I sent them an email. [redacted]Desired SettlementI would like my money back. I used a gift card that my children bought me for my birthday and topped it up. I believe the cost was $57.00 or more.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], OwnerContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@shaw.caThank you for your complaint. [redacted] When the client came in for her spa manicure, she showed the receptionist her nails and in fact this client is a severe nailbiter. Her nails are bitten down right to her nail plate. She told the receptionist this was her first manicure. After the service was performed, the client informed the receptionist that she does not like nail polish, and therefore did not like the color of the polish that she herself chose for her own manicure. (you can choose to go without polish, it is each clients preference) We had the client prepay for her manicure, so that she did not damage her freshly polished nails while digging in her purse for her wallet etc. This is a standard practice at Spa Ahava. Prior to the client leaving, immediately after her service was finished she put on her jacket and also put her freshly painted hands in her pockets to get her keys out. The receptionist noted that this occured in her booking. She did not let her nails dry at all before leaving the spa. The client phoned back the next day to complain that her nails were uneven and that she was not happy with the polish. [redacted] When the client left, her polish was even. I believe the damage was done by putting her coat on and putting her hands in her pockets. Whether or not that was the case, the receptionist invited the client to come back in to have her nails repolished. [redacted] She explained to the receptionist that she was driving and did not have her schedule with her. The receptionist told her to phone back by the end of the day so that we could book her in again for the polish. She did not phone back. Instead we received the following email from her: "I will not be calling you about redoing my manicure as I was in a very serious accident today and could not breathe for a period of time. Good luck with your business - I will not be coming there anymore [redacted] As you can see, we tried to make it right with this client, however she chose not to come back for us to redo the service, [redacted] Had she called back even the following day, explained her unfortunate accident and why she couldn't call that day, we would have still offered her to book in to redo the service. The offer is still open for her to come back to redo the service. However, we will not be refunding her money. [redacted] Regards,[redacted] OwnerSpa AhavaThis client can call or email to rebook to the have the manicure done by March 31st. [redacted] Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)[redacted] I did not fish out my keys from my pockets because I was being picked up just outside the door. I did not say I didn't like nail polish but said I needed some help picking something out that would be neutral. She suggested a greenish color. I had been a nail biter but have not bitten my nails in at least 5 months. [redacted] I was in a serious accident the day I called and was not able to contact the salon. It was made very clear to me when I called from my vehicle (and did say that I didn't have my schedule) that I had to call THAT day. I knew that I had to call back that day. [redacted] Final Business Response In response to your last two rebuttals:[redacted]I will extend the date and you can call to book in between now and April 15th, [redacted] If you choose not to take us up on our offer, then we assume you will no longer continue on. [redacted]
