Spanish Theatre Repertory Reviews (1)

Review: Paid for ticket entrances in 2002 and was given credit of $180.00 and $90.00. While their credit had an expiration date to be used within a year.

I have not been able to get into the city for other of their events. They did not offer option of refund for inability to attend the show, but it was

cancelled (two weeks before showing) with reasonable time previous to the show giving them time to sell the seats before show time. I went to

a showing on Nov 2013 and discussed allowing some return on the credits of $180 and $90, but they refused saying the time had "expired".

However, they have my money since 2002, and not returned it, but will not offer an option for use. Any recourse?Desired Settlement: Either extension of the credit such that I may veiw another event at the theater or refund my money.

Response:

The stated policy when purchasing tickets to a [redacted] performance is that there are no refunds and no exchanges. On special circumstances, inclement weather, we may allow for an exchange or a credit. The period for such exchange or credit to be used is 1 (one) year.

The purchaser, [redacted], admits to the one-year expiration date of the credit in her complaint. The original purchase was in 2002 over 10 years ago. There is presently no information on [redacted] in our computer system.

Theatre companies have a uniform policy about refunds and exchanges: there are none. Any credit given has a time limit and it is so stated.

A complaint after 11 years is unjustified.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

While I recognize the repertorio placed an expiration date on the credit and many years have passed since I purchased the tickets, the primary issue/principle is that I paid for the tickets and for multiple reasons was not able to enjoy a production. However, they are in possession of my money, no matter how many years have gone by. I should be able to receive the money or a service for it. My intent is not to damage their reputation or inconvenience, but it impresses that putting a limit on refunds and keeping someone else's money is wrong.
