My fiance and I got engagement photos on September 9, 2018. Mary promised us that on October 30, 2018 we would have all of our photos. To this day June 4, 2019 we still only have 33 photos. Mary's response to us telling her we only have 33 photos, "I don't do less than 125 ever." We have her for our wedding on June 15, 2019. We have been trying to get in contact with her for 2 months to set up a meeting to talk about our wedding date. She has continuously refused to meet in person or she just does not respond to our request for a meeting. This is not the first time she has done this to customers. After we started looking into this issue we found that we are not alone with this issue.

I hired Mary to photograph my wedding day. She is very nice and an amazing photographer. I love my pictures.
However she was incredibly hard to contact a times. I asked to have our engagement pictures taken in the fall and I had to reach out to her many times before she agreed to meet us in February. I was married in July of 2017 and I still have not received my canvas that was in my agreement (as of December 2018). And I probably never will. Her customer service was the most disappointing aspect of my wedding.

If you are looking for someone to miss photo shoots, ignore texts, phone calls, emails, never be present at her store, and even claim ridiculous reasons as to why they are not getting back to you for weeks, then Mary is JUST the one for you! Mary initially double booked my engagement shoot that was planned months in advance. It was not until just recently that she admitted to this, after claiming I must have had the wrong date down. I had messaged her that Friday & Saturday and heard no response. Sunday comes around (scheduled appt.), and I had to call and leave a voicemail stating I had not heard from her months. Hours before our shoot, she mentioned I must have wrote the date down wrong. I checked back with my email FROM Mary with the date and time I had down. After rescheduling 5 times due to rain and her busy schedule it was not until 1 month before our wedding that I was able to receive engagement photos. I had tried to reschedule our engagement shoot multiple times and would go 2 weeks without a response. In one day I called her, emailed her, texted her and even went to her shop in Washington. NO RESPONSE. We did not hear back from her until the first time my mother had to threaten legal action. We expressed she did not communicate with us, failed to show to appointments, and literally felt as if she was ignoring us. Mary has automatic replies that send back to every message that is sent to her. I sent numerous emails that never granted a response. She claimed she NEVER received any emails from me, and stated it MAY be my email. I finally screen shotted her auto replies and texted them to her saying it was clearly on her end. Fast Forward about a month and half, we FINALLY did our engagement session, and received our pictures. After being very frustrated with Mary about poor communication skills, and threatening legal action only to get a response, I tried to be more positive and give her the benefit of the doubt. After Mary stated she never received any emails, she insisted ALL COMMUNICATION be through text messaging so we did not have any further problems. I texted Mary, Monday ,a week before when I wanted to have our final consultation, asking if she was able to meet with us and our DJ. No response. I texted her again Tuesday asking if she received my message. No Response. Mary emailed my engagement photos that Friday. I responded to that email asking if she had received my two text messages. No Response. The following Monday comes around, and she texted me stating that the engagement photo I had posted on social media was tagged wrong. I responded right away telling her I tagged it correctly, and AGAIN asked if she was able to meet that upcoming Wednesday. No Response. Wednesday comes around and we met with our DJ that afternoon. Two hours after meeting with the DJ, Mary texted me telling me she had just gotten my message, and wanted to know when I was able to meet. I reached out to Mary a week in advance and FOUR times trying to set up an appointment. This is how Mary has been to deal with the entire time. Communication is non-existent. I checked Mary’s reviews and the reviews were enough to not pursue business with her after my own run in. During my time of dealing with her, she has since changed her business name and closed her store front. Mary has made this wedding planning process terrible. I have since printed all records and sent a certified letter cancelling my contract. Mary did not hold her end of the contract up by providing services to me. I ask that I receive my $750.00 deposit back after her ruining my wedding experience. She is well aware of the situation and unhappiness. Her only solution was that we did not have to pay the remainder of the bill until after the wedding.

Spark Wedding Photography Response

Sabrina and I have came to an agreement and have settled matters. I do want to state, I never broke my contract with Sabrina and worked with her and her family to settle things respectively. I did not change my business name, but am starting a new business. Sabrina was contracted under Vivid Imagenation Photography. Retainers are non-refundable and are not returned, as they are used to reserve and hold your date and cover overhead cost and time spent planning and prepping for your wedding.

Customer Response

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I hired Mary Fielder (business name: Vivid Imagenation Photography) to photograph my wedding on 8/15/15 (almost 2 years ago). My contract included a "12x12 Thick Pages Leather or Hard Cover" photo album of my wedding. I have not received the photo album, or even seen a draft. I have contacted Mary dozens of times via email, phone, text message, and Facebook in the past 2 years about my wedding album, and she has stopped responding. The last time I heard from Mary on 4/26/16, she said that she was working on it and would get back to me shortly. She never got back to me, and has since stopped responding to my messages altogether.

We were unable to schedule the photo session, and I asked for a refund. Mary was quick to agree, apologized ,and asked for a few days...The amount was $324.00. That was two years, ago .I tried calling and texting several times, never able to connect. That is very, bad business. She would always say that she didn't use that number, or e-mail in prior attempts to contact her. I just wished she had some integrity with her business.

In accordance with "Provision M" in the contract, signed and finalized on January 27, 2016, VIP by Mary Nicole agreed to provide "images...on client's online personal gallery no later than ninety (90) days after the photo session" The photos were not posted and made available until December 15, 2016, 131 days after the date of the wedding, August 6, 2016. Communication between Mary and I during this time was incredibly scarce and unprofessionally delayed, consisting of numerous excuses as to why she was unable to deliver (mainly personal situations). Furthermore, the contract states that one "30x40 canvas" would be included. As of April 17, 2017 I have not received a response from Mary with regard to the delivery of this product.
