Sparkle Dry Cleaners

Review: On December 16, 2013 I picked up my winter jacket from the Sparkle dry cleaners and didn't notice any damage and paid the bill, a total of $46.30 including three other items. I used the account of my friend, but paid with my credit card. When I examined the items a few days later, I noticed that the material of my winter jacket became rough and sand-paper like, and the three leather buckles became wrinkled and old-looking. I came back a few days later to the Sparkle dry cleaners and mentioned to the front desk lady that my jacket was damaged and asked her if there was something that could be done. The lady said that the jacket was old, and it was already damaged when I brought it in. I objected saying that the jacket was almost new, and it started looking old after the three leather buckles were damaged during the treatment at Sparkle. I also said that it looked like they forgot to wrap them before the treatment. My friend also confirmed that the buckles were discolored after the jacket was dry cleaned at Sparkle and said that we would bring the jacket back. On January 7, 2014, we spoke to the manager who insisted that the buckles were already damaged before I brought the jacket in for the dry cleaning. She refused to give me a refund or a credit but said she would try to fix the buckles and told me to come back on January 10, 2014. On January 10, 2014, the front desk lady said that that the manager was going to replace the buckles, and I would have to come back later, and she would give me a call when it was ready. More than two weeks passed, but nobody called us, and on Saturday, January 25, 2014, we decided to drive by and finally picked up the jacket. It had a note that it had been fixed, but nothing was done to the buckles or the material, and it still looked damaged.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund on my [redacted] credit card for the dry cleaning of this long winter jacket. I think it is only fair to refund a customer if the service resulted in additional damage to the item, which started looking worse than when I first brought it in. Thank you.
