Review: I have no complaints about the quality of work done, but the project ended up being more in-depth than anticipated. The job was shut down prior to completion, at which point I was given a quote that was three times the initial (verbal) quote for the entire, all-inclusive job. I verified that everything was included in the initial estimate twice prior to agreeing to the quote, and at no point was I informed about the massively increased costs, despite checking in with the [redacted] several times a day, nor was I provided an itemized invoice breaking down labor costs per person per hour (as requested) because they "don't do it that way." Total cost would have been almost five times the original estimate if the [redacted] hadn't "cut me a break" but I still feel ripped off. Our verbal agreement regarding payment terms was broken, preventing me from stopping payment on the second check, and a partial cash payment was not deducted from my bill. A week after the job is finished the [redacted] still has my key and has blown me off all week about returning it. Several plans to meet up have ended with a series of unanswered phone calls and texts. Finally got a response when I advised the [redacted] I was going to the police. I am supposed to meet the [redacted] at the police station after work tonight to get the keys and a refund of my overpayment, and if she doesn't show I am filing charges.Desired Settlement: At the very least I need an itemized invoice showing labor costs per person per hour, any non-hourly labor costs (garbage had to be hauled offsite), and a breakdown of supplies used--i.e., proof that I really did get "a break" on the price. If no documentation can be provided I want a refund of the difference between the initial estimate and what I ultimately paid out.
