Sparks Computerized Car Care Reviews (%countItem)

On 06/11/2020 I presented my 2012 dodge Avenger to the shop listed in the complaint. At the time of presence. I thought I needed a battery because all of my lights (Headlights, interior lights) were flickering non stop. At the time my car alarm kept going off while driving as well. After the guy at the receptionist desk listened to all my concerns. He went on to say he will charge me $80.00 to install my battery because it was located under my passenger tire. I was ok with his price because I use my car to commute to work daily. I am an essential worker for Columbia St. Mary's. I first headed across the street to Auto Zone across the street from sparks. I paid $159.00 for a new battery and presented back across the street for sparks to install. The guy got in my car and presented to reverse to pull my vehicle inside for him to do the installation. Another vehicle located behind him. He blew my horn to let him know that he needed to get by to pull the car inside. Once my vehicle was inside. He came out to tell me not only did I need a battery. I needed an alternator as well. because I needed my car and was okay with leaving it over night to fix first thing in the morning. He gave me a price of $400.00 to purchase the Alternator as well as labor. He did tell me. If I got both fixed he would knock $40.00 off the labor price which bought my balance to $440.00. I immediately paid him on the spot. Called a ride to take me home for the day. The next day 06/12/2020. I called the shop around 1pm on my lunch break because I have not heard anything from them, and the same guy told me he was working on my car and it would be ready once im off at 5:00pm. When I arrived at the shop a little after 5 he told me he installed the alternator, but the light were still flickering and that I needed to take it to a dodge dealership to have them check the wiring because its electrical. On 06/13/2020 I took it to a dodge dealership in which they did a inspection and showed me that it was a faulty alternator installed.

Please see attached response saying the alternator has a warranty.

On May 17th, 2019 I made a visit to Sparks Computerized car care and spoke to the shop manager (***).I explained to *** that I was having issues with my steering wheel locking/ Power steering sensor turning on when I drive. *** advised that he would need to diagnosis the vehicle first in order to find the source of the issue, he recommended I take my vehicle to the Lexus Dealer ship to have a proper diagnosis to fully find what may be causing the malfunctions. Upon taking my vehicle to the Dealer ship Lexus and receiving a diagnosis that reads the is alternator is failing, I went back to Sparks auto body within ***e day and gave *** the diagnostics log. *** gave me a estimate to repair the alternator ($326.00) total with the condition he would not be able to start the repairs until the next day Saturday 18th due to low staff mechanics I left my vehicle with ***, over the weekend I have not received a call form the shop. Monday 20th I called to check to see if the work was completed, *** mentioned that the mechanics quit and my vehicle will not start, and he tried to give it a jump but the vehicle will not turn over, believing the problem was associated with the alternator I towed my car to another shop that ***e day and had the alternator replaced. The result my car still did not start I called *** and gave him the update, he asked if I could tow my car back to his shop so he can find the problem in which I did. *** called me May 21st stating he could not find the problem after trying to jump start the vehicle and taking fuses out my fuse box. I towed my car from his shop the Lexus upon inspection the fuse box was blown due, to Sparks auto body jump starting my car in correctly.I had to pay repairs of $622.00 to get a new fuse box. When the work was completed May 24th, I went back to Sparks auto body with the new diagnosis and spoke to *** he acknowledge he was only person that tired to jump start my car and may have did so incorrectly that caused the fuse box to blown out.

I have never stated if my car turned off it will not start back up. Although my vehicle needed a new alternator, my car at that point starter with no issues. ***, stated the shop mechanic quit so I had no choice but to have my car alternator replaced at another shop. However, the damaged was already done due to ***, the shop manger jump starting my vehicle incorrectly to the point where after I replaced the alternator the car still didn’t start. I took my car to the Lexus dealership had a finale diagnosis. I had to replace the whole fuse box due to his negligence. I presented the Diagnostics paperwork to *** on two occasions and still ***, will not take ownership although I have him on video recording admitting to restarting my vehicle incorrectly.

Regards
