Sparks Marina RV Park

I had made reservations with sparks marina for Wednesday, November 25 through Saturday, November 28. I called on Saturday, November 21 due to a storm being forecast for Wednesday. I was informed I would be charged $25.00 for the cancelation. I asked where the policy for cancelations was located. I was told the web site was being updated but there was no written policy for the $25.00 charge. I was not informed of the cancelation policy when I made my reservation. I feel I had canceled my reservation in a timely fashion and I don't feel I should be charged a cancelation fee.Desired SettlementI wold like to be refunded $25.00 to my credit card. Business Response To Whom it May Concern,As [redacted] indicates, she made a reservation on 11/6/15 for a stay with us between 11/25 - 11/28/15. When the reservation was made, a fee equal to one night's stay was charged to her credit card ($32) as our standard deposit policy. Additionally, the cancellation policy was described for [redacted] and an Email Confirmation containing the deposit and cancellation policies was sent, per our Standard Operating Procedure. This language includes our standard cancellation policy: "Outside of 72 hours prior to your arrival date, a $25.00 fee applies. Within 72 hours of your arrival date, a fee equal to one day's camping fee for the type of site selected will apply. No refunds given for early departure."When [redacted] cancelled her reservation on 11/21/15, she was just outside of the 72 hour cancellation deadline, so the standard $25 cancellation fee was charged, and the remaining $7 was refunded to the credit card she used to reserve her stay and pay the one night deposit ($32 deposit minus the $25 cancellation fee). Further, before the cancellation was processed, our staff offered to move the guest's arrival and departure dates to a time that would be more suitable for them, at no cost. [redacted] declined and cancelled her reservation, at which time the cancellation policy and fee was explained again, and the reservation was cancelled. Our RV Resort is managed by a professional third-party management firm that has managed dozens of RV Resorts across the country for more than a decade. Our cancellation policy is very usual and a standard within the RV Resort industry. We apologize if this has caused an inconvenience for [redacted], but the policy was well documented and stated to her, as it is to all our guests, at several points during her reservation process with us. Further, she was given the option to move her stay to a different date at no charge, before she decided to cancel.Please let us know if there are any further questions, and we appreciate your assistance with this matter!
