Review: On June 23, 2015 at 9:38am, I forwarded a request to Spartan Detective Agency via e-mail to perform title searches on 4 properties located in NY. Shortly thereafter, our office received fax confirmations that stated that our request is currently in process and that if we do not receive the results within 5 business days, to call Spartan to check the status. We were informed via phone that we would receive the reports by June 30th. On June 29, 2015 at 2:44pm, I called Spartan and explained that we needed the title reports first thing in the morning on June 30th, but a timeframe for delivery of the reports could not be confirmed. Between June 30 and July 2 I spoke to several employees at Spartan over the phone requesting the status of these reports. No one could tell me when I could receive the reports. No one called me back when they said they would. I constantly had to explain the situation over and over again to each person who answered the phone. They all had my name and number, but I was asked to repeat this information each time I called. The director, Edward K[redacted] was rarely in the office and did not respond right away to my voicemails or requests for information and never apologized for the delay. My office manager also called to find out what the issue was and she was given misinformation. As of Tuesday, July 2, 2015, 9 business days after our initial request, these reports were still not ready, so we decided to cancel our request for the reports. I was informed that we will be billed if the company incurs charges from these reports. I have never had such a frustrating experience with a professional company like this who promised to provide a professional service that they did not deliver on. Communication was poor and management is not doing their job. It is clear that the searches were not conducted promptly and were not a priority to this company. If we are billed for this terrible service, we do not plan to pay the invoice.Desired Settlement: The company has claimed they will be charging us for the title searches if the company they used to conduct the searches charges them. We do not wish to be billed for extremely late/incomplete reports by an incompetent company. We will not pay their invoice if we receive one from them. We do not wish to be contacted any further by this company and do not plan on doing business with them in the future.
