We have and not ever quote a specific running cost of a hot tub for many reasons listed below. The customer here has chosen to run the hot tub on 110 volts as opposed to 220 volts..which increases the running cost as well as the amount of time a hot tub takes to heat. The customer in question agreed to buy the hot tub and we offered to install it free of charge providing access was 'standard' - on arrival this was anything but the case. We have around 150 feet across woodland terrain to get below a raised deck. We then offered to remove the railing around the deck and lift the hot tub 6 feet onto the raised deck. We supplied an electrical cord and gfi protected plug and advice on how to run the hot tub correctly. As the delivery circumstances were not as the customer had explained a charge should have been made but wasn't. A bespoke new cover was chosen by the client - we returned the following week to fit it correctly, with straps, catches and keys. The customer raised the issue of her running costs and we explained exactly why the tub was running longer which is completely due to running it on 110 volts - The customer contacted us after the new efficient cover was fitted to say the electricity usage had gone down to approx $80 per month. We offered to supply an additional thermal blanket similar to a pool solar cover to help - again as a gesture and then we received a text giving us an ultimatum.SUMMARYThis customer should not have considered buying a hot tub given that her stated electricity cost of $80 per month is not affordable. If the hot tub was run on 220 volts the running cost will lower (which we have explained) however the customer would have the cost of this installation. We are in no way responsible for the customers electricity charges, the rates that may apply to them, or how the customer uses the hot tub and when i.e. outside air temperature that then cools the water meaning the heater has to be on for longer.The Marquis hot tub is a great, fully insulated hot tub and we have offered to help every step of the way to reduce the customers running cost. Nothing more can be added.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The merchant in question directly quoted me verbatim $45 to $50 monthly running costs with no caveats as he claims in his response. Quoting running costs is standard for local hot tub dealers. Every hot tub buyer asks this question, and every commercial hot tub company provides this basic information. Merchant in question did not explain that running at 110 would increase the running costs. Merchant in question offered to deliver tub for free, after I told him that my friends would deliver free the following week, but owner wanted to close the sale, get my $2000 cash, and said he needed the space in his show room. Delivery was exactly what I said it would be (this is red herring on owners part). Issues are: owner lied about running cost, never provided me a receipt for my $2000 tub, or any written warranty which he made verbally, also he did not provide second filter which was promised in ad. the pool cover that he admits he would get to me to reduce running cost was empty offer, over 2 months now and he has done nothing. this pool cover costs $15 and is easy to get, again empty words and broken promise. Owner also said that he would adjust the running of tub so it wouldnt run the filter so much which would reduce costs but has not followed through on this either. What kind of business does not give you a receipt for a $2000 sale? or no written warranty? and does not deliver on promised parts?....This company: Hot Tub Restoration in [redacted]. Again I request delivery on all requests above, or complete refund of tub.
