Business responded:We are aware that there is no reasonable outcome to be be achieved in continuing to attempt to explain our position. The customer can send us a receipt for the light bulb and the bill from their plumber (must be invoice from plumber) and we will send payment.

Business responded:We are regretful that we did not respond to the customer's issues in the time frame that she had desired. When she called [redacted] he said he would not be able to address the issues for several weeks as we were backed up with several projects. My mother had passed in October...
after a long illness where we spent over a month in hospital and in hospice with her. Our company had suffered as a result of our needing to tend to my mother and our family. We were working a lot of hours to try to catch up and recoup some of our losses. There was no room in our immediate schedule to address her issues and we stated that. She then proceeded to make several more calls to us in the following weeks (being demanding and disrespectful) even though we had clearly told her that we could not address her issues for several weeks. We had always worked to accommodate the customer and her husband the best we could even though she was often rude, abrasive, and disrespectful. In her letter to us stating that she would be filing a complaint she stated that she had dealt with difficult customers for years but had always called them back and insulted us for not bowing to that same practice. We would counter that not being a difficult customer would be the appropriate solution. Her statement was an admission to knowing she was being difficult but still decided to stay with that course. Threatening and insulting us was just something we could no longer tolerate and the unfortunate decision on our part was to not respond to these actions. A colleague of ours that performed work for the customer and her husband wrote them a letter last fall stating that he would longer provide services for them and returned their money due to how poorly she had treated him. In hindsight, this is the same action we should have taken.We are regretful that we did not email her with the light bulb type for her lighting but she was not calling us for the replacement type, she was expecting us to come and replace it. If it were a faulty outlet issue, the entire fixture would not have worked at all instead of just one bulb not working. When [redacted] talked to her husband he stated that the sink strainer basket was not leaking and we were never made aware that it was leaking. We are proud of our family-owned company and always seek to go above and beyond for our customers and to make things right for our customers.
