SpeakEasy

I was extremely dissatisfied with my experience at the speakeasy. When I arrived, I was told cover was $5 and I paid with a card and entered to wait for my wife to arrive. I informed her that cover was $5 but when she arrived they told her $10 because they don't make a commission off of $5. She informed them that I was only charged $5 and they harassed her about not being from Austin and not being there for the band before finally allowing her to only pay $5 in cash. She had a drink and we left. When in the car she informed me about what had happened and I checked my bank account. They had charged me $10 to enter after they verbally said $5. I drove back to ask why. As I was waiting in line, I heard him say $5 to each customer. I showed them my bank app and asked why I was charged $10. The female stated they had been charging $10 all night, which was obviously fraud since they had been saying $5 to everyone else. She did give me $5 back in cash after I insisted. The male standing at the door was extremely rude and told me that they don't make any commission when it's only $5. I told him that was none of my concern and that they couldn't illegally charge $10 after saying $5 and not telling people. He told me I was technically not allowed back in the bar because I didn't have a stamp on my hand. His tone was very rude and he was very upset that I noticed the extra charge. I read reviews online and found out there are many people have have been fraudulently charged more for cover or in bartender tips so I wanted to be sure to share my experience.
