Review: I SOUGHT THE SERVICES OF SPEAR ELECTRIC WHEN I INITIALLY BOUGHT MY CONDO, THEY WERE LISTED /RECOMMENDED BY A [redacted] LINK. I HAD EXTENSIVE WORK DONE INITIALLY. I SOUGHT THEIR SERVICES AGAIN IN AUGUST/SEPTEMBER OF 2012, AND EXPERIENCDE A PROBLEM IN DECEMBER OF 2013. I CALLED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT, I EXPLAINED THAT THE WORK THAT THEY PERFORMED; INSTALLATION OF AN LIGHT FIXTURE, AND NEW OUTLET WAS NO LONGER WORKING. I WAS ESPECIALLY CONCERNED BECAUSE I TRAVEL OUT OF TOWN FREQUENTLY AND MY [redacted] ALARM WAS AFFECTED. THE REP, [redacted], WAS VERY RUDE AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT [redacted]! THERE AS A POWER OUTAGE, [redacted] IS NOT AN ELECTRICAL COMPANY. AND ALSO MADE A POINT TO SAY, "THIS WORK IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I'LL HAVE TO CHARGE YOU". I AM NOT SEEKING "FREE" SERVICES. AGAIN, APPT. WAS SCHEDULED FOR 9 DECEMBER, INCLEMENT WEATHER ON THAT DAY PREVENTED THEM FROM COMING OUT, OWNER SAID THEY DON'T WORK WHEN THE SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED. I CALLED AGAIN , SOMEONE ANSWERED AND ACTED AS THOUGH THEY DIDN'T HEAR ME, BY THEIR REPEATED, "HELLO, HELLO"... I CALLED BACK SEVERAL TIMES AND NO ANSWER.. THE OWNER LEFT A MESSAGE AND SAID THAT THEY HAVE MANY PEOPLE WITH FIRES AND POWER OUTAGES ( MY CALL WAS FOR A POWER OUTAGE AS WELL IN THE AREA WHERE THEY PERFORMED THE WORK INITIALLY IN MY HOME ) AND SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO GET TO ME. ARE YOU KIDDING? IS MY CALL/ SCENARIO ANY LESS URGENT THAN ANYONE ELSE'S. HE ACTALLY HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY THAT HE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT, "I CALL SOMEONE ELSE". I WILL NOT, THEY PERFORMED THE WORK AND THEY SHOULD AT A MINIMUM COME OUT TO EVALUATE. I HAVE CONTACTED MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY AS WELL, TO MAKE THEM AWARE OF THE SERVICE AND LACK OF FOLLOWUP THAT I RECEIVED. I PAID 567.86 FOR THEIR SERVICES AND THEY REFUSE TO PROVIDE FOLLOW UP SERVICE TO ME!Desired Settlement: I REQUEST THAT THIS COMPNAY RETURN TO MY HOME TO EVALUATE THE WORK THAT THEY PERFORMED. I WILL NOT CONTACT ANOTHER COMPANY TO REDO ( IF NECESSARY) WHAT THEY DID BECAUSE THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY CALL AS URGENT ALONG WITH THE OTHERS, WHOSE TO SAY THAT MY PROBLEM MAY NOT LEAD TO A FIRE. A SAFETY ISSUE HAS ARISEN DUE TO A POWER OUTAGE AND MY [redacted] ALARM NOT OPERATING. I AM REQUESTING A REFUND IF THEY REFUSE TO RE EVALUATE AND/OR A REPLACEMENT OF WHATEVER THEY INSTALLED INITIALLY.

At this juncture, the negative exchange is useless. At NO time did I ever schedule an appointment and not keep it, I have a regard for time and schedules as well. Actually, it's very difficult to schedule an appointment when the phone is not answered. I understand their urgency for others emergencies, however are these emergencies and the phone not being answered ongoing????

Also, when I moved into my home, an inspector inspected it, and never pointed any deficiencies out to me. I've discovred deficiences over time. The upside down switch that SPEAR is referencing is NOT the switch in question. The one I'm requesting an inspection on is the one they installed. ( brand new)

SPEAR are the the only electricians that that performed extensive work in my home. As a matter of fact , the issue is not so much as someone being "beneath" them.. ( you must be kidding), perhaps morever favortis, or catering to a "preferred base" of customers.

They performed work in my home and I have a right to have them at a minimum , re examine what was installed and why it's not working, aside from the work being out of warranty.

Again, to summarize , this is the first time ever that I've had to deal with a company with this level of professionalism or lack thereof.

The core issue here is lack of service from a company standpoint, The "fillers" documentation is not relevant- warranty is not an issue, inclement weather and whether or not my reason for calling an electrician is more or less important than other customers is utterly ridiculous!!! I called a company who peviously performed a service in my home, and I have every right to recall them if something has gone awry. Again, another filler, someone else installed an "upside down" switch in my home is irrlevant or me not being familiar with my home and breaker/box is not the issue here. Me skewing fact to "your ear" again is nonsense - Revdex.com, if you can't see the trend here from a so call professional, I am at a loss. And if you have a 24-hr line, is there a reason they DON'T return call. Mine inparticular?

The point is the company performed work in my home, I had a question, and they FAILED to follow-up. All of the "fillers" and "unprofessionalism" in a letter from a so called "reputable" company is astonishing.

What company performs a service, a question arises any they refuse to follow up? Is this work ethic questionable? The behavior lends itself to other ethical questions?
