Failure to accept return or product that doesn't fit in my car.
My name is [redacted]. I have attempted without success to return a Hemi Challenger 900TQ Organic Disk SS-Trim Twin Spec Clutch Kit [redacted] to SPEC, Inc. I purchased this product on 9/19/13 from [redacted] On 9/21/13 the clutch arrived at Dependable Dodge and they attempted to install the clutch. The clutch assembly was not the correct part for the vehicle per Dodge. I contacted [redacted] and after further inspection they agreed. [redacted] Dodge and I contacted SPEC who advised the part was fine. After further investigation on 10/2/13 SPEC sent the correct part to Dodge who then installed the clutch. After picking up the vehicle, I discovered the clutch wasn't working properly. I was advised to drive the vehicle for 500 miles for a break-in process. On 11/19/13, I returned the car to Dodge due to the clutch not working properly. Dodge replaced some parts assuming it didn't have to do with the brand new clutch. I continued to have the same problems. For the next couple of months, I took the vehicle back to Dodge for the same issues. I contacted SRT directly and they advised to try a different dealership. I then took it to [redacted] on 1/13/14 who is a certified SRT/Viper Service department. They advised me that I needed a new clutch. I explained to them it was brand new and they advised me to take it back to [redacted] I had been going back and forth between [redacted] and SPEC trying to get this resolved. [redacted] then advised us to take it back to Dodge and they would send us a throw out bearing spacer and speak to Dodge directly to try and get the clutch working. On 3/31/14 I took my car in again and had Dodge install this part. After removing the transmission for the third time, Dodge advised that the part didn't work and that this clutch doesn't work in this car. I have tried to return this to SPEC directly and they refuse to take responsibility for this clutch that doesn't work for this car. The clutch is essential for the mobility of the vehicle and continued service of the clutch has accrued thousands of dollars in rental car fees, labor, shipping, parts, and time off from work. I am requesting the following from SPEC:
Return of Clutch (reimbursed to me) - $1748.90
Additional part Spec sent us due to not sending everything up front (reimbursed to me) - $82 they made us pay expedited shipping.
Rental Car Fees (reimbursed to me)- $664.30
Labor for Dodge for removal of transmission 3 times (reimbursed to Dodge since the car is still there and unusable) - $800/removal for a total of $2400
Total due - $4895.20

I have tried for the last 6 months to make this work. I have been more than patient with SPEC, [redacted] and Dodge but when it comes down to it, this part just doesn't work in my car and this has been confirmed with multiple sources. Dodge has now refused to install any parts manufactured by SPEC. Arrington Performance has removed all SPEC products from their website. I will not be stuck with a part that doesn't work and all the costs involved any longer. I need a response right away as the above expenses are increasing day by day with my car out of commission as we speak.
